Holiday flats-Schneider:
Our house is surrounded by a ranking garden with many flowers and bushes. The rooms are tastefully arranged. The living room and the two bedrooms of the holiday flat on the first floor have direct access to a roofed balcony. SAT-TV and WLAN are free of charge. A separate lawn and a fully equipped roofed barbecue area are inviting to relax. Hiking trails and cycle tracks can be found in direct neighbourhood (50 m), the next forest is about 100 m away. Recreational facilities such adventure park, bare foot path high ropes challenge course, Kyrill path (windfall path), as tennis courts, indoor tennis court, miniature golf, riding stables, gym, spa, sauna world and indoor swimming pool can be reached within a few walking minutes.
Castle town Kastellaun:
The castle town Kastellaun lies on top of the Hunsrück mountain ridge between Rhine-Mosel-Nahe forming a triangle with a gorgeous, densely wooded countryside. The clime is markedly healthy. The heart of Kastellaun’s Old Town is the medieval ‘Sponheimer’ castle ruin reigning from a steep rock and representing an appropriate location for many open-air events taking annually place from spring to late summer. A further attraction is the dungeon meal in its historical chambers as well as the ‘House of History’ informing about the era of the Celts until the Cold War. Recommendable at any time is a visit of the toy and town museum (Spielzeug- und Stadtmuseum), a guided castle and town tour, a fabulous castle garden tour, a tour with the night watchman as well as a walk through the lavender labyrinth. Many restaurants and cafés are inviting to pause. Several health, fitness, spa and cosmetic facilities and institutes are available.
Sport:
Kastellaun lies in the middle of a well marked net of cycle tracks. The ‘Schinderhannes’ cycle track following the former railroad bed and the ‘Hunsrück-Mosel’ cycle track are connecting the multifaceted countryside of the Hunsrück with Rhine, Mosel and Nahe. A wide net of hiking trails enables the hikers to enjoy the multifaceted countryside with its green deciduous forests, its blooming meadows and fields to the fullest. (The Hunsrück clime/air is the healthiest in Germany). Many hiking trails lead through unique and romantic brook valleys passing old mills and castles. The hiker can even experience the beautiful scenery on historical pathways of the Celts and Romans. Inline skater prefer the ‘Schinderhannes’ cycle track between Kastellaun and Simmern (38 km) which follows the former railroad bed and hence does not never ascent more than 4 %. Well marked Nordic Walking trails are also available (58 km).The (local) adventure park and high ropes course provide a thrilling challenge.
