We will gladly give you our hiking tips for your routes and inform you about the points where you can enjoy the best views. A sailing trip on the Edersee is a terrific experience for us as well. Children – Children – There is a lot to discover:
The tourist destination of regions offers you a lot to discover. You can observe native animals in the Edersee zoo. The Greifvogelschau (show of the bird of prey) is a high point – which you should not miss. Also, our theme park at the lake – Aquapark and World of Senses – promises some adventure. The toboggan run in the vicinity – which is always open in good weather – offers a maze labyrinth in the summer. You are sure to spend a lot of time with your parents at the lake and enjoy swimming and fishing there. Furthermore, you can also visit the museum (for e.g. Milk Museum) and mines – which are suitable for children. The children’s programs organised by the national park and nature park promise more adventure. The seats are always limited – so keep yourself informed and book on time. You can also see the ancient fossils in Korbach. However, a visit to the Korbach district requires a prior booking. This is only a small ramble through the region. The region offers much more.
Weather:
The weather of Edersee always pulls one over the meteorologists. Due to the ascending temperatures at Edersee - we enjoy much more sunshine as compared to what the weather report predicts. If you wish to visit a cool place by the lake then the cuisine of this Waldeck-Edersee region awaits your arrival and indulges you with all kinds of specialties.
Ski:
The Upland with its well-known ski resorts of Willingen and Winterberg are not far away and you can enjoy a couple of hours of uninterrupted skiing. The many new snow cannons here ensure your fun in the winter. Journey time is approx. 1 hour, Distance approx. 45 km.
