Welcome to our tropical paradise! Our newly built house is situated on a 2 acre beach plot facing the Indian Ocean (private property). Ushongo Bay is touristically largely undeveloped idyllic beach (unlike nearby Kenyan coast) Tropical garden dominated by coconut palm trees. House sleeps 6 persons in two large self-contained suites (bedroom plus bathrooms). 1 bedroom has doublebed plus single bed, the other has 1 double plus 1 bunkbed.The spacious and airy house sits on an elevated platform and offers great views on the Indian Ocean. The house has just been completed in June 2007. Solid stone house built with local materials (Makuti thatched roof, hardwood/ boatwood furniture & natural stone floors). It offers comfort and all modern amenities. 4-5 additional pers. can be put up on neighbouring plot in two self-contained bandas. Private maid is provided. Accommodation is either on 'bed only' or on 'full board basis'. Travel by KLM Amsterdam Kilimanjaro, onward to Ushongo on RegionalAir.

Ushongo Bay is a tropical paradise with a sandy beach with safe swimming throughout the year. It is situated 15 km from the old Arab town of Pangani. Ushongo is touristically largely undeveloped (unlike neighbouring Mombasa, which is a mass tourism destination). There are no traffic noises, no souvenir shops, no hawkers, water scooters or other disturbances. Typically there are no more than 20-50 tourists in the Ushongo area (three bays, approx. 10 km). The usual movements to be seen are villagers on bicycles on the beach and traditional fishing boats crossing the bay. Swimming is possible year-round at high and low tide, ideal for children. Endless beach walks, snorkelling/diving in nearby marine park.

Why Ushongo Tanzania?: Tanzania is a great alternative to the Southern coast of Kenya, not affected by unrest in Kenya, no mass tourism (no package tours, no big beach hotels), our beach house is in front row with direct access, no beach prostitution, no hawkers or other nuisance. Ideally you should combine your beach holiday with a safari in North Tanzania. We can establish contact to reliable companies offering good value for money. We speak English! On parle Francais!

Our house has just been completed in June 2007. It is a solid stone house built with local materials ranging from Makuti thatched roof to hardwood and natural stone floors. Only for the bathrooms and for electricity we have used imported tiles and fittings. The house is spacious and airy (total size 150 m2, 6 metres high ceilings. The furniture are made of Eucalyptus and Mninga wood. Some furniture are made of defunct boats. The house has a large terrace facing the ocean which offers shade throughout the whole day with seating for 16 persons. The house has 2 self-contained bedrooms, each one with a large bathroom. Each of the rooms has one 2x2 metre double bed plus a single bed. The two bedrooms are connecting to a living room and a kitchen separated by a bar. There is also a rear terrace, ideal for sundowners watching the sun set. The kitchen is fully equipped with 2 fridges, one freezer, gas/electric stove, plates and cooking utensils for serious cuisine for larger groups.

Relax in quiet paradise

This is a lovely house on a gorgeous stretch of beach, very peaceful and stress-free. Unlike Zanzibar or Mombasa, Ushongo has not been discovered by many tourists. You can walk along the beach for miles and see only a few local villagers and fishermen. The water is warm and clear, and most of the year is free from seaweed. It is perfect for swimming, body surfing, and sailing. The house itself is open and airy, more than comfortable, extremely clean and has every thing you would need. You may never want to stray from the lovely verandah, however, as it faces the beach and is well shaded by lovely palm and coconut trees. If you choose to have the cook/housekeeper stay with you, you will be in for a treat with great cooking and warm smile. This is a perfect get-away for families, honeymooners, and/or those seeking some quiet time in paradise. The owners will go out of their way to be sure you are happy and have everything you need there. There are all the major appliances you need to prepare all meals, etc. Wonder Swahili-style beds give the place a wonderful, exotic atmosphere.

There are a couple of other hotels within 10 and 30 minutes walk, if you want to go to a restaurant or bar. But the best part is there are no "hawkers" walking around trying to sell you something while you are relaxing on the beach or under the palm trees. I would highly recommend staying here for at least 2 weeks. You can come and go easily by plane, to/from Arusha, after a safari.

Paradies

Ich habe Anfang Januar zwei Wochen in dieser Strandvilla verbracht. Es war wie im Paradies. Der Morgen begann im warmen, nur wenig welligem Ozean. Das Frühstück mit frischen Früchten und sonstigen Zutaten hat einen für den Tag fit gemacht. Tagsüber konnte man sich im Garten eine von 70 Palmen aussuchen, unter die man sich zum Lesen legen wollte. Man kann ewig am Meer entlanglaufen und entdeckt dabei immer wieder Schönes.Am Abend ließ man sich nach dem Sundowner auf der riesigen Terrasse nieder und wartete gespannt auf das Abendessen. Es war jeden Abend köstlich.
Falls es einem nach ein paar Tagen nach einem Abenteuer verlangt, kann man ganz in der Nähe Ausflüge zum Tauchen und Schnorcheln und zu kleinen unbewohnten Sandinseln buchen. Die zwei Wochen vergingen wie im Flug. Ich kann dieses Haus nur empfehlen.

Die Angaben in der Beschreibung sind sehr ausführlich und korrekt.
Die Strandvilla ist in sehr gutem Zustand, sehr gepflegt und sauber.
Die Betreuung durch den Vermieter war vorbildlich und herzlich.
Das Feriendomizil ist sehr empfehlenswert zur Erholung. Sehr schöne Bucht mit relativ flach auslaufendem Sandstrand und Kokospalmenhain.
Sportmöglichkeiten vorhanden. (Bootsfahrten, tauchen, surfen, fischen).
Wenig Tourismus, keine "Hotelpaläste", keine Strandverkäufer, tolle natürliche Umgebung.
