The tranquil, picturesque, unspoilt village of Gamblesby is hidden away beneath the fells of the North Pennines just one mile away from the scenic A686, which links Penrith to Northumberland via Alston, England's highest market town. From Melmerby, where you leave the main road to come to Gamblesby, the road climbs dramatically up the fell to Hartside viewpoint 1903 feet above sea level with spectacular views over the Eden Valley to the mountains of the Lake District National Park and even southern Scotland. Gamblesby itself is in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which ensures that the village, with its tinkling streams, wide village greens and wealth of red sandstone buildings, will be protected log after it has finally been discovered.

Gamblesby is a tranquil, picturesque, unspoilt village located in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Beauty yet still near the edge of the Lake District National Park. Just one mile away from the scenic A686, which links Penrith to Northumberland via Alston, England's highest market town. The views here are spectacular, taking in the Eden Valley to the mountains of the Lake District and even southern Scotland. All our guests have shared use of the courtyard and front garden which has tables/benches and a barbeque. Off-road parking for 1 car. Storage for bicycles. One quiet, well-behaved dog welcome free of charge.

We both decided to head North for a week away and could not of been more at home there, it was such a fantastic place to stay and both mark and his wife made us feel very welcome. The house we stayed in had everything we needed and we felt really at home there and the area was breathtaking and completed many of the local walks within the area and further afield.

i would reccomend the stay from the young to the older person, it was just a fantastic week away and had told all my family and friends about this little hide-away.
