Ski: The Krippenstein Freeride Arena (2100m) is a magnet for those who enjoy winter sports in unspoiled natural surroundings and is accessible via the recently modernised Dachsteinbahn cable car system, which is only 2 minutes from Landhaus Osborne. It was recently voted No.1 Freeride Area in Ski & Wintersport journal „Planet Snow“. As well as 30km of off-piste skiing, there is an 11 km blue/red prepared ski piste from the summit down to the valley (1,500m difference). Down in the valley there is a wonderful 14 km long cross- country ski trail which passes through the 'Koppenwinkl', a Nature Preservation Area renowned for its beauty. In addition to skiing in Obertraun, within easy reach buy car are the ski areas of Dachstein West, Loser, Katrin-Alm, Bad Ischl, Postalm Arena - plus many more.... Golf: With the beautiful mountains and deep blue lakes of the Salzkammergut area, lies the Salzkammergut Golf Club in bad Ischl - only 25 minutes drive from Landhaus Osborne!! From as early as 1937, when golf was still quiet unknown in Europe, Edward the Duke of Windsor was playing rounds here. During the following decade the 'Golf Club Bad Ischl' was responsible for development of Golf within Austria.
