Campiglia Marittima: The country houses Ghiacci Vecchi are composed of three buildings of the former estate which have been excellently restored. They are situated in extensive gardens just 2.5 km from the sea, cloaked in the peace of the Maremmen expanses. Swimming pool (16 x 8m) with sun loungers and parasols, sun and games lawn, playground, covered parking spaces. To reach the sea one crosses a nature reserve with fabulous Mediterranean pine, oak and cork trees and the perfumed Macchia. Beyond the reserve is the long sandy beach. 5km away is the picturesque Gulf of Baratti with sandy and rocky beaches, a small harbour and the renowned Etruscan archaeological sites. Above all this stands the mediaeval fortification Populonia. Shop and restaurant approx. 2km, supermarket approx. 4km away.

The small town of Campiglia Marittima with its narrow alleys lies on a hill and is only a few kilometres away from the sea. It has retained its medieval character to the present day. In the valley near Venturina it is only a few minutes to the Caldana thermal springs and lake. To the north-west lies the bathing resort of San Vicenzo (12km) with its modern sport harbour. The pleasant pedestrian areas invite one for an evening stroll through the shops, to promenade in true Italian style or to enjoy an evening in one of the discos. From Piombino (11km south west) one can take a ferry to Elba, Corsica or Sardinia.
