The country estate La Steccaia lies in the valley beneath Montescudaio approx. 9 km from the sea (Marina di Cecina). The house with the apartments lies in the middle of an estate of over 30 hectares and is surrounded by old trees and arable farmland. The fattoria was opened in 2003 and is situated in a number of the former farm buildings. The last 600m of the driveway to the house is a gravel track. Parking at the house. On the other side of the river, approx. 100m away, runs the road to Volterra. Sport & Activities: Swimming pool (12.5 x 25 m) with parasols and sun loungers. Whirlpool, tennis court with floodlights (fee applies), children’s playground, bike hire. Washing machine (coin-operated). Outdoor showers, a large garden from which a number of paths invite you for walks along the river Cecina. Catering: The family run restaurant with bar offers fantastic food, in particular the local, traditional Tuscan specialities. All the products are organically grown in the region.

Freundliche Betreiber der Anlage. Wenn etwas in der Küche gefehlt hatte,
wurde zeitnah ersetzt. Anlage sehr sauber. Zimmer geräumig. Von Vorteil ist,
dass die Betreiber Eigentümer sind und nicht Angestellte. Das Essen im Restaurant war gut, war auch daher zu erkennen, da Einheimische auch dort
gegessen haben. Ein kleiner Nachteil ist bei den Ehebetten, es gibt eine durchgehende Matratze. Das bedeutet, bewegt sich der Eine, wird der Andere geschaukelt. Aber zum Trost die Matratzen waren nicht durchgehangen und hatten für den Rücken eine angenehme Stärke. Also, man bucht hier nicht falsch!
