The Residence Borgo degli Ulivi was opened in 2004 and combines the architectural style and tradition of the island. The residence lies on the edge of the small but lively town of Arbatax and its pretty, unusual and colourfully painted exterior is a pleasing sight in itself. The individual apartment blocks are grouped around a pleasantly set sweet water swimming pool (10x12m) with children’s pool (7x7m) and hydro-massage (4x4m), a sun lawn and a modern bar, or lie scattered in the lush, blossoming garden.

Arbatax: the former fishing village is one of the best known spots on the Ogliastra coast. Arbatax itself offers some of Sardinia’s famous sights: the red rocks (impressive porphyritic granite cliffs) as well as a Spanish watchtower which gave the village its exotic sounding name from the arabic 'Arba at Ashar' meaning “fourteenth tower”. The coast is permanently changing between rocky cliffs, clefts, bays with snow white pebbles and beaches of fine sand which stretch from Cala Sisine to Santa Maria Navarrese. To the south the coastline becomes flatter and sandier with the red porphyritic rocks between. From the harbours of Arbatax and Santa Maria Navarrese boats depart every day to bring visitors to the many bays, returning in the afternoon.
