The catchment area of this small town reaches to Arenal in Palma bay and surrounds the communities on the southern coast (Cala Pi, Vallgonera, Cala Blava, Maioris, Son Veri etc.). Famous luxury resorts are 'Gran Hotel Son Julia' (STEIN hotels), 'Sa Torre' (Hilton) and 'Son Antem' (Marriot) with wellness spa and 2 golf courses. There is a third golf course located in Maioris. There are many places to shop for daily needs, (German-speaking) doctors, chemists in this town off the beaten track. The town has great historical meaning for Majorcans, because there was a slaughter here in 1349 that let to the end of the Majorcan Kingdom. The most important places of interest around of Llucmajor is about five kilometres north of the Randa Klosterberg with the three famous hermitages and a fantastic panoramic view over the island.
