Unique renaissance vacation apartment 300 sq m in the Medici palace in the middle of the center of the beautiful mountain city of Barga (by Lucca) Tuscany. Elegant and cozy during all seasons. Spacious room with large windows, a large salon, library/medium room, dining hall, modern kitchen and two balconies. Wonderful views from every room of the historic Plazza Angelia and the amazing mountain landscape of the untouched Garfagnana. Barga is an elegant city with a Florentine history. It is listed in 11th place for the most coveted locations in Italy and is one of the only two cities in Tuscany to have the distinction of a blue ribbon for tourism excellence. A paradise for art and culture lovers, culinary specialties, nature and sports. Opera and jazz festivals, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, biking, skiing (Abetone). Florence, Pisa, Lucca and the Riviera are easy to reach. Where else can you have an inexpensive vacation in a Medici palace? Not suitable for small children.

  • The three bathrooms are from the late 70s and have been restored and are very clean. They are tiled and two have bathtubs, one has a spacious shower. All have stunning views.

  • The bedrooms are very spacious, each with chairs, two with desks. Two bedrooms have an adjacent bathroom, like a suite. Private atmopshere. The bedrooms are separated from one another by the large recreation rooms, like the dining room, large salon, library/media room. A small extra room with a desk can be used as an extra bedroom. Pull-out sofa. Wonderful view from all rooms. Can be heated during the winter. Two bedrooms have a French bed, the third bedroom has a double bed made up of two beds that can be pulled apart. The small studio has a very good pull-out couch. The apartment can be used by couples, a maximum of 4 singles can stay there.

Notes: The vacation apartment is from the renaissance of the 16th century. It is the Bel level of a Medici palace. That is why it has the largest salon in the city. The great beauty, which is hard to find, is located in the rooms themselves. There are impressive beam ceilings made of chestnut and parquet floors made from priceless wood. Elaborate, rare fireplaces made of stone. Large windows with a view of the central city piazza and the amazing mountain world of Garfagnana. Open fireplace in the library. The furniture is very stylish and comfortable. Elegance and wellness hold their own here. Seats in all rooms. Priceless Steinway piano in the salon. (Only for musicians) You can really relax here. Two balconies with tables and chairs. The kitchen is new and has all needed amenities.

The authentic renaissance rooms are elegantly, yet comfortably furnished. During the winter, the apartment is warm and the city of Barga is interesting. The apartment is located in the middle of the old city which is marked by its beautiful palazzi, squares full of life, alleys and steps. An impressive cathedral towers above the city. The sound of ringing bells fills the air. Everything invites you to go on wonderful walks. The amazing nature begins right outside of the city gates. The residents are very refined and exude the old Tuscan-Florentine culture which is reflected in all parts of life and contact. The city is not overrun, the region of Garfagnana is wild and untouched. Ski vacations are perfect during the winter. It is an ideal surrounding for family get-togethers, vacations and romantic vacations.

Life as a theater on the Piazza Angelio: The highlight of the apartment is the view of the Piazza Angelia where the Palazzo is located. Here is where you will find the life of the old city. Restaurants, fancy wine stores, the most beautiful galleries and antique stores, painters that catch the beauties of the city on their canvases. Kids playing, old people talking with each other. All processions happen on this piazza - all musical acts. A monthly antique market takes place here and concerts, classical music, jazz and pop can all be enjoyed from the window. The opera house is located around the corner, along with a very good restaurant and an ice cream shop. You can buy everything in the city. There you will find grocery stores and a small supermarket. A small hospital will take care of emergencies for free. So you do not really need a car. There are good bus and train connections to places like to Lucca and the Pisa airport.
