Tindari, located above Patti in the direction of Messina, contains a church and an ancient theatre with a wonderful 180º view. Closer to the sea in Oliveri a walk through the laghetti (also called lagoon lakes or mare secco), which are a nature reserve area, is worth it.

Daily departure to the Aeolian Islands from Milazzo by hydrofoil or boat and during the peak season from Patti-Marina to Vulcano - the island with warm sulphur sources & lava dome (crater ascent).

Cefalu, reachable via the motorway in direction of Palermo, is an intact medieval city with an harbour, the Norman style cathedral & temple ruins on the cliff above the city. The small city Castelbuono & its famous defiant castle is nearby.

Long beaches, lovely coastal areas provide a nice contrast to abrupt cliffs. In spring a luxuriant flowerage covers the hills. A second bloom happens after the dry summer. The sea temperature up to 20 degrees until end October invites you to swim. Diversity, excellent cuisine, mild climate and contact with guest friendly inhabitants turn Sicily into a worthwhile destination.
