'Santa Lucia' is a small and very quiet apartment complex, situated in a cul de sac without so many noisy cars. You can spend a relaxing holiday on the beach - nearby you can enjoy the extraordinary Amadores beach, and also Puerto Rico beach - as well as exploring the island by car and enjoying the nightlife of Puerto Rico or Playa del Inglés. Maybe you are interested in tours or excursions to the surrounding areas, or all over the island?  I can help you find the best with my island experience, of almost 14 years! An interesting example is a folklore event that takes place at every Sunday in Las Palmas in the North of the island. There is also an open tourist bus to see the sights of the city. Inland, you may visit caves where people still live almost under conditions of ancient times – only the antenna outside testifies to modern inventions such as television.

This nice apartment is quite large and  at the same level as the street outside. You have to go up only 5 steps to the entrance door. Here you enter the comfortable living room and may pass directly to the big balcony with fantastics view to the beach, the ocean and part of Puerto Rico. Please try to imagine a cozy night with a romantic sundown, maybe a glass of red wine - that will make you feel inclined to a sunny holidays over here, won´t it ? Because this apartment sleeps up to 8 people you will surely have some delightful nights in or outside - but please think of you neighbours, maybe they´d like some sleep ... By the way : One says Gran Canary´s climate is one of the best in the world - especially for those people who have problems with rheumatism and asthma.

'Santa Lucia' is about 8-10 min. by foot from the shopping center. There are shops, restaurants of all kinds, pubs and discos and a lot of leisure activities such as tennis, mini golf, squash, large trampolines, gym, a big water park and golf (nearby). In the other direction you´ll find on the beach / at the harbor deep-sea fisher boats, a surf- and sailing school, renting of jet-ski and pedal boats and also a diving school and ...  If you are interested in the art of painting, you can join the lessons of a German lady artist who lives at Barranco (engl.: rocky valley) del Cura, about 8 min. by car, in a picturesque surrounding with a fantastic view to the ocean and the mountains. Over there you´ll also find my two private horses that you can ride at a small extra cost. Or do you want to learn horse riding? Finally something totally different: If you like you can have a bit of education and knowledge add- I have intense experience with tutoring and beginner lessons in Engl. /Spanish.

  • You can access the large bathroom from the balcony as well as from the corridor that is very practical during nighttime because you won’t disturb anybody using the water. In the inner corridor there is a very large wall-chest that contains everything you need such as bed-linen, towels and things like that. When you see that something is needed please speak with me. Normally I will be there 2 hours everyday in the reception at your disposal.The change of towels and bed-linen is flexible - you decide how often - let´s speak about it !

  • The other 4 sleeping places are in the living room although at first glance it isn’t obvious. There are two sofas you can change in no time into two comfortable double beds. Putting the bedding in the morning  into one of the bedrooms and changing the beds to sofas again nobody will notice the living room had been used to sleep during the night. The kitchen is quite large and very well equipped, there are 8 chairs to have meals so that  you can provide yourself without quarrels and problems with 8 adults. For your comfort there are two bathrooms, one is only small like a guest WC and the other equipped with a shower, WC, bidet and of course a wash-basin and a wardrobe for towels and all you need.The bigger one of the bedrooms is equipped with two wardrobes. Inside of one ot it there is a safe - up to now we never had problems with burglars. But please put everything of value into it so that you won´t be the first person who has trouble. The safe is not charged extra

Notes: If required you can change the big balcony totally or partially into a shady area with the help of a strong blind if you want to  keep out of the sun. Therefore you have to learn some little tricks so it will be better to ask me before using it. I will show you what is necessary to know. In the kitchen you´ll find a normal electric coffeemaker and german or english coffee powder you can buy at almost every supermarket in the nearby shopping center.. If you´d like to enjoy some coffee made in the Spanish way, I´m happy to explain you the use of the 'cafetera' that will create Spanish coffee in no time - but with original Spanish coffee powder, please.

how to get to 'Santa Lucia' by car : How to get to 'Santa Lucia': From the airport take the motorway South, past Playa del Inglés, further on to Arguineguin and finally to Puerto Rico to the end of the motorway. - At the roundabout go left towards Puerto Rico through the tunnel. - At the next roundabout go right and follow the main street of Puerto Rico about 500 m passing two more roundabouts. At Mc Donald´s on your right, turn to the left. - Driving up the lightly ascending street, at reaching a T-crossing, turn to the left and after only a few meters to the right. Now you are only 100 m away from 'Santa Lucia' which is situated on the right hand. Directly in front of it you´ll find a free parking.

We visited Gran Canaria during January 2009..............we Stayed at Nr.9 Santa Lucia which was more than we could have wished for for the price! The apartment contained everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay and wouldnt hesitate to go back again.

Diese Ferienwohnung ist heruntergekommen in einem schlechten allgemein Zustand und schmutzig! Nicht zu empfehlen.
Owner's Response: Lieber Peter, ich verstehe nicht, wie es zu diesem Kommentar kommen konnte. Ich bin immer offen für jedwede Kritik, habe aber während Eures Aufenthaltes davon gar nichts gehört ... Es wäre doch nett gewesen, mir einen derartigen Kommentar direkt zu geben und nicht auf diese Weise. Auch ich bin sehr von Euch enttäuscht, das hätte auch anders sein können.
Die Wohnung ist definitiv nicht schmutzig gewesen, als Ihr sie übernommen habt, und der Allgemeinzustand läßt nichts zu wünschen übrig - siehe fast alle anderen Bewerungen.

Im Dezember 2008 war ich mit meiner Frau und unserem Enkel für 10 Tage im App. 9 in " Santa Lucia " : Der Aufenthalt war wunderbar und wird uns noch lange in schöner Erinnerung bleiben , nicht zuletzt egen der wirklich wunderschönen und großzügigen Ferienunterkunft , die liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet ist . Eshat einfach alles gepasst : Der tolle Ausblick auf `s Meer , die Sonne , die nette Vermieterin , die uns unsere vielen Fragen unermüdlich beantwortet und uns insgesamt sehr freundlich betreut hat . Unser Enkel hat mit uns in einem Hochstühlchen am Tish gesessen und ein Plastikeimerchen mit Zubehör zum Spielen im Sand geschenkt Bekommen . Also ein rundum gelungener Urlaub - wir kommen bestimmt bald einmal wieder ...

wir, das sind mein Mann und ich, waren auf Empfehlung von Freunden im Januar für 8 Tage in der Anlage Santa Lucia in Puerto Rico zu Gast, leider zu kurz. Wir planen im nächsten Jahr einen längeren Aufenthalt. Das Apartment war sauber, geschmackvoll, gepflegt und wir fanden auch preisgünstig. Die Vermieterin hat uns gut unterstützt, gute Tipps für Ausflüge und Restauration gegeben. Alles im allen, eine schöne Anlage, hübsche Umgebung, gute Betreuung, wir kommen gerne wieder - dann aber länger.

Ende 08 war meine Familie im Apt. Nr. 9 zu Gast. Wir kannten Puerto Rico schon vom Vorjahr, sind bewusst wieder dorthin gefahren. Wetter zu dieser Zeit: traumhaft!

Zur Wohnung: sie ist ideal für unsere Zwecke. Wir haben einen 4-jährigen Sohn, für den auch ein separates Schlafzimmer vorhanden war. Uns ist Selbstversorgung und somit komplette Unabhängigkeit sehr wichtig. Für diese Zwecke ist die Wohnung ideal! Es ist alles vorhanden was man benötigt, und es gibt in direkter Umgebung jede Menge Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Wer ohne Auto unterwegs ist, erreicht Zentrum + Strand in 10 Minuten, muss dabei allerdings immer einen kleinen Berg bezwingen. Zum (unserer Meinung nach schöneren) Strand von Amadores kommt man auch zu Fuss, man muss allerdings länger marschieren. Da wir immer ein Auto hatten, kann ich zur Dauer nichts sagen. Wer mit dem Auto da ist, erreicht in näherer Umgebung (z.B. Puerto de Mogan) auch größere, preiswertere und noch besser bestückte Supermärkte. Dank Kühlschrank + Eisfach kann man sich so auch Vorräte anlegen. Für Selbstversorger also sehr gut geeignet, für Gäste die sonst eher den Komfort eines Hotels bevorzugen vielleicht eher nicht. Während der Mietzeit versteht es sich von selbst, dass man die Wohnung selber in Schuss hält. Es ist auch genügend Infomaterial für z.B. Ausflüge vorhanden.

Der Blick aufs Meer ist vom Balkon und vom Schlafzimmer vollkommen unverbaut und traumhaft (die Fotos auf der Website sind da sogar eher unvorteilhaft, da sie den Blick AUF die Anlage zeigen aber nicht AUS der Anlage). Wir haben all unsere Mahlzeiten auf dem Balkon eingenommen, und schöne Sonnenuntergänge genossen. Der Balkon liegt bis zum Sonnenuntergang in der Sonne. Morgens hat man die Sonne dafür etwas später.

Ich würde Puerto Rico nicht unbedingt als "laut" bezeichnen, aber wer die absolute Ruhe und Stille sucht ist hier vielleicht doch nicht richtig aufgehoben. Im Appartement und auf dem Balkon selbst hört man daher immer etwas vom Trubel in der Stadt und von den Strassen. Dies ist hier aber sicher überall so. Und in der Wohnung in der wir letztes Jahr waren, auf der anderen Seite des Tals, war es wesentlich lauter.

Die Vermieterin ist absolut TOP! Hat sich von selbst alle 2 Tage gemeldet, gefragt ob alles OK ist, hat sich bei aktuellen Dingen sofort um alles gekümmert, ist immer per Telefon oder Mail erreichbar, und hat natürlich auch Tipps zur Hand.

Fazit: wir würden sofort wieder hinfahren!
