This very beautifully located Finca on an enclosed property of 2,5 ha close to Trujillo is a brilliant place for nature-lovers to explore the Extremadura on day trips. Right from your terrace you can already watch a great variety of birds and enjoy their singing. In the winter months you will find huge groups of cranes in the vicinity. Relaxing at the finca enjoy the peaceful silence and panoramic views or head for a stroll through the nearby medieval town of Trujillo. 2 large terraces, the upper one is roofed. Garden furniture and BBQ. Sometimes some sheeps are on the property in order to shorten the plants. The nature stone house is very comfortable and lovingly furnished! On the upper level are 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom with 2 beds, the spacious living-/dining-room with chimney, satelite tv, cd-player, sofa and the well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and microwave. Downstairs is the second bedroom with ensuite bathroom.

This very beautifully located Finca on an enclosed property of 2,5 ha is situated close to the village of Herguijuela and approx. 15 km of Trujillo. It is an ideal place to explore the Extremadura on day trips. On good roads with very few circulation you drive through marvellous sceneries reaching Cáceres, Mérida, the national park of Monfragüe with the vulture cliffs, the monasteries of Guadalupe and Yuste, Medellín, the outstanding Vostell-Museum and many further destinations. Especially for nature-lovers the region and the finca are simply brilliant! Right from your terrace you can already watch a great variety of birds and enjoy their singing. In the winter months you will find huge groups of cranes in the vicinity. Relaxing at the finca enjoy the peaceful silence and panoramic views or head for a stroll through the nearby medieval town of Trujillo, home of Francisco Pizarro, the conqueror of Peru.

Diese Finca wurde liebevoll in Stand gesetzt, war sehr sauber und hatte viele (techn.) Annehmlichkeiten, die man hoch auf einem Olivenberg in der Extremadura nicht erwartet: vollausgerüstete Küche (einschl. Geschirrspüler), kostenfreie ADSL-Verbindung, Kamin, Außen-Grill, 2 Bäder, kostenfreie Tel-Nutzung (innerhalb Spaniens) etc. Uns hat die Unterbringung außerordentlich gut gefallen: Inmitten von Olivenbäumen und mit "eigener" Schafherde und Fuchs sowie mit phantastischem Ausblick ist die Lage der Finca sehr gut und v.a. sehr ruhig. Über die Betreuung vor Ort können wir nichts sagen, da die Kontakperson, die dies normalerweise übernimmt, im Urlaub war. Aber die Reinigungskraft, die sie vertrat, sowie auch der Schäfer waren total herzlich.
Als wirklich einzigen Nachteil empfanden wir die Zufahrten zur Finca: Es gibt davon zwei, eine unbefestigt und eine befestigt. Die Anfahrtsbeschreibung führt über den unbefestigten Weg (insg. 1,5 km lang, davon 50% unbefestigt), den man nur im Schritttempo und mit größter Vorsicht befahren konnte (v.a., wenn man mit einem Mietwagen unterwegs ist); der zweite Weg ist asphaltiert, aber z.T. sehr eng (rechts & links Steinmauern) bzw. von einigen beachtlichen Abflußrinnen für Regenwasser durchkreuzt. Beide Wege machen die Zu- und Abfahrt etwas schwierig (übrigens auch für die Einheimische, wie wir feststellten, als wir einmal unmittelbar nach der Reinigungskraft den Berg herunterfuhren); nachts hätten wir uns das nicht getraut, aber es gibt bestimmt Urlauber, die diese Hürde mit Leichtigkeit nehmen.
Das kleine Dorf am Fuße des Berges ist sehr verschlafen, aber das 13 km entfernte Trujillo einfach nur bezaubernd. Dort einen Abend auf dem Plaza Major zu verbringen ist ein "Muß" und es gibt dort, kaum fährt man auf die Stadt zu, auch einen großen Supermarkt mit allem, was man braucht.Besuchen Sie die Burg; in den Gassen um sie herum sind viele Häuser noch bewohnt (also keine "Museumsstadt"), es gibt wenige aber tolle Restaurants und Hostales. Unbedingt ein 50c Stück mitnehmen - damit läßt sich die Statue der Schutzpatronin Trujillos, die von der kleinen Kapelle aus auf Trujillo blickt, quietschend einmal um die eigene Achse drehen - ein "Schauspiel", das man gesehen haben muß.
Für Naturliebhaber ist die Lage der Finca phantastisch. Um ins spanische Leben einzutauchen, war sie uns etwas zu entlegen (durch die schwierige Zu- und Abfahrt).
Owner's Response: Zur Anfahrt möchten wir anmerken: es ist zwar ein schmaler weil einspuriger Weg aber es fahren auch regelmäßig breite PKW (wie Mercedes etc.) auf diesem Weg zu ihren Anwesen ohne jedes Problem. Nur bei (äußerst selten vorkommend!) Gegenverkehr muss dann einer der beiden ein paar Meter zurückstoßen und seitlich in einer Verbreiterung des Weges warten. Insgesamt sind ca. 600 m nicht asphaltiert aber absolut problemlos auf befestigtem Untergrund zu befahren.
Von 12 Mietern in 2009 haben wir nur einmal diese Kritik am Weg vernommen. Jeder normale PKW kann problem- und gefahrlos den Weg befahren!
