All of our apartments are cosily furnished in a Bavarian, comfortable style. Not only in the summer, but rather throughout the year, you can relax during your holiday. Those who love romance can heat the tiled stove or make a fire in the open fireplace (depending on the apartment). For self-caterers there is a kitchen with a stove, fridge, microwave/grill, toaster, coffee machine, water cooker and kitchen linens. Bedsheets and towels and the hair dryer in the bathroom are provided. Also available, a telephone with direct dial, possibility to use a modem for internet and SAT television. On request, you can get our home-made pastries for breakfast. A selection of drinks can be found in our drink fridge. You can discover the reservoir with our rowboat or kajak free of charge. Should you arrive by train or plane, we would be happy to rent you our rental car: see the homepage for the prices! WEBCAM at the house!

The name of this apartment is also from an island in the Staffelsee, the large Birke. The holiday apartment is on the first floor and each has a balcony in the south of the lake with a lake and mountain view and one in the northern direction (for relaxing). A large living room with an open fireplace, separate bedroom with double bed and a gallery with the second double bed makes the apartment, particularly for children, very interesting and popular. Balcony furniture made of teak wood and loungers are available. A laundry stand is available. The washing machine and dryer are in the cellar and can be used for a fee.

Our house is located in the upper Bavarian alps with a stunning mountain panorama. 24 km from Garmisch-Partenkirchen (with Germany's highest mountain, the Zugspitze) and 70 km from Munich. The Murnau market with one of the most beautiful pedestrian zones & castle museum that was made famous through artists like Münter, Kandinsky and Franz Marc, is just a 3 minute drive away. All shopping facilities & gastronomical wishes can be fulfilled here. From our house you can walk 5 minutes to the Staffelsee. Here you can go on a cruise (with a new guestship from 2009), find boat rentals and the beautiful beach. The world famous passion play location of Oberammergau (next play is in 2010), the Benedictine monastery Ettal & the Linderhof castle built by King Ludwig can be reached in just 30 minutes by car. The castle Neuschwanstein & Füssen are 60 minutes away. Lifts and slopes can be reached in 20 minutes, Nordic walking directly from our house. WEBCAM at the house.

  • During the months of June, July, August, September and October the apartment can be booked on a weekly basis. Exceptions, if possible, on request. The final cleaning is included in the day price. For a stay of less than 5 days we charge a one-time final cleaning fee of € 60.
    The prices for the holiday apartment apply for a booking with 4 people. Each extra person over 15 years - this means from the 5th to 8th person - costs € 10 per day. Children from 7 to 14 years of age cost € 5 per day.

Ski: The largest ski region in Germany, the Zugspitz and the Alpspitz region in Garmisch-Partenkirchen can be reached in just 25 minutes by car. The alpine skiing world championship will be here in 2011! For those who don't have as much experience or for beginners, we recommend the small regions under the Hörnle in Bad Kohlgrub (12 km) or the Ober and Unterammergauer ski region on Kolben and Steckenberg (20-25 km). Here you also find the stunning cross country slopes - trace King Ludwig's steps - discover the Linderhof castle and the castle park in deep winter in tranquillity with the cross country skiers.

Golf: In a radius of 40 km you will find the most beautiful golf courses in the area before the Alps. The closest 18 hole course is in Oberau with the stunning view of the Zugspitze.
