Nerja is in the eastern part of Axarquia, 60 km from Malaga and on the provincial border with Granada. It’s a fishing village of Arabic origin. Its name comes from the Arabic word 'Naricha' (abundant well). Nerja has a wonderful climate and a fantastically beautiful landscape with rocky cliffs and extensive sandy beaches.
