Sit back, relax...and enjoy the view! This traditional, stone-built farm cottage at an altitude of 900 metres in the SIERRA NEVADA NATURAL PARK enjoys marvellous panoramic views of the wonderful bowl of montains all around. Both, the cottage itself and its location has a lot to offer, to families, to those seeking rest and relaxation in a romantic place, and those with a spirit for adventure. Here you can enjoy some of Europe´s most varied and delightful mountain walkings, centuries old white washed Moorish Villages where you can treat yourself to good food and wine (just 5 min. away), glorious mountain scenery in every direction, bathed in the unrivalled light of Andalucia. Easy day trips will take you to Mediterranean beaches (40 min. away) or to the cultural wonderland of Granada, one of the great cities of Spain with its spectacular Alhambra Palace. At home you will enjoy the pool with sunny terrace, the shady balcony under the chestnut tree, the silence and the stars at night.

Placed between the Mediterranean Sea and Granada you enjoy the open countryside, 4 km from Pampaneira, one of the famous white washed Moorish villages with a charming central place with bars, restaurants and shops as well as a tourist information center, a bank, a cemist etc. In 9 km you reach the little town Orgiva or Pitres. Parking is by the side of the little country road which winds up the mountains from Orgiva to the higher villages of La Alpujarra. From here there is a short, 80 metres walk down to the property (but don´t be concerned about you luggage, I will arange its delivery as well as your shopping for you). Beautiful countryside is all around you, there´s neither a vehicle in sight nor earshot. There is, however, a traditional working farm next door, not a noisy affair either but there are plenty of goats. I live next door but my own house faces in a different direction so everything is as private as can be. As an insider I can give you many tips for a wonderful holiday.

  • Prices are meant for 3-5 Persons. Kids are very welcome!
    In the lower and middle seasons (exept high season from 4th of July to 18 th of September 2009) you get a reduction of 10 % for the booking for only 2 persons!

    Inclusive: final cleaning, all towels and linen, Internet access, electricity, central heating in winter and water.
    Wood for your fire place in autum and winter costs extra.

    Pool*: opening end of may, closing middle or end of october depending on the weather (no garantee in october!)
  • Please pay 20% of the whole price in advance to confirm the booking within 2 weeks after getting the rental contract by email. The rest you can pay by transfer or at the arrival in cash, I also take a 100 Euro security payment which you get back when you leave.
  • You can bring 1 or 2 dogs by appointment and for the charge 4 Euro per day and dog.

  • All prices are meant for 3-4 persons. If you book in the low or middle season for only 2 people there is price reduction of 10 %! All on one floor: kitchen (hob but no oven), with dining area and big windows to the garden and a door to the wooden, shady terrace with morning sun and mountain view under the chestnut tree, living room with reading corner, Satelite TV, CD/Radio player, Free internet access (bring your own laptop!), sofa and an open fire place, twin bedroom, bathroom, furnished terrace and balcony, filtered swimming pool (4 m X 3 m, 1.65 m deep), Utility room with washing machine, iron & board, all linen and towels provided. Weather permittting, the swimming pool will be open from 2nd May until 16th october 2009. Firewood can be purchased from me for 12 Euros per wheelbarrow. There is also central heating controlled by the wood burning stove in my house. Also available is a portable radiator in a strong winter. The cost for the end cleaning is included.

Notes: Your cottage is absolutely private with a privat entrance, balcony, lttle garden, big terrace and pool. As your neighbour I live next door but my own house is faced in a different direction. Just occasionally I will take a discrete dip in the pool if you allow me to do so. Guests have priority use of the swimming pool! Every thing is as private as it can be. The next neighbours are 80 m away, baking delicious bread! Parking is by the side of the little country road which winds up the montains from Orgiva to the higher villages Pampaneira, Bubion, Capileira and the Taha villages (Trevelez- the center of the famous Serrano Jamon!) From the parking you have a short 80 m walk down to the property- but don´t be concerned about your luggage, I will arange its delivery for you. Beautiful countryside is all around, there is neither a vehicle in sight nor earshot. There is, however, a tradional working farm with tomatos next door, not a noisy affair either, but there are plenty of goats.

Airport: Granada: 68 KM (1 hour), Malaga 130 KM (2-2,5 hours) , Almeria 156 KM Car rentals at all airports but reserve in the highseason. May be we can help you or pick you up at the airport.

Rental run: Rentals for the Cortijo La Loma normally run from Saturday (16 hr) to Saturday (11 hr) , please ask for exceptions. There are also seasons with 3 days bookings.

Internet: Internet access for free, please bring your own laptop.

tolle erholung mitten in der natur

fruestuecken bei strahlender sonne auf dem balkon, entspannen auf der terrasse am pool und ein toller ausgangspunkt fuer ausfluege nach granada sowie wanderungen in der sierra nevada.
obwohl wir nur eine woche im casa loma waren haben wir uns super erholt - das haeuschen, die natur und natuerlich ela und sigi haben wunderbar dazu beigetragen.
uns hat's sehr gut gefallen, wir wuerden jederzeit wiederkommen und koennen das casa loma waermstens weiterempfehlen.

Wunderschönes Haus in super Lage

Wir haben mit der Familie im Oktober einen sehr schönen Urlaub in diesem wunderbarem Ferienhaus bei Ela und Sigi verbracht. Wir waren positiv überrascht, dass das Haus noch viel schöner war als auf den Bildern in der Anzeige. Casa Loma ist sehr urig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Haus war sehr sauber. Wir haben noch nie zuvor ein so schönes Haus gemietet.
Die Aussicht von der Terasse ist einfach gigantisch!
Wir alle waren begeistert von der Lage mitten in der Natur.
Da das Haus gut gelegen ist, konnten wir viele Ausflüge nach Sevilla, Marbella, Malaga und Granada machen.
Kurzum: wir verbrachten in der Casa Loma einen Traumurlaub und können das Haus wirklich nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Wir kommen sicher zurück.

Paradies für Wanderer

Als Wanderbegeisterte fand ich nur bedauerlich, dass wir nur eine Woche Zeit hatten, Cortijo, Pool sehr angenehme Gesellschaft der Gastgeber und wunderschöne Umgebung zu genießen. Das einzig beschwerliche sind die ca. 100 m Fußweg von der Straße zum Cortijo.
Die Sierra Nevada ist ist von einem Netz wunderschöner, gut ausgeschilderter Wanderwege auf unterschiedlichen Höhen durchzogen, die durch sehr abwechslungsreiche und extrem schöne Landschaften führen, immer wieder begleitet vom Plätschern der verschiedenen natürlichen und schon von den Mauren angelegten Wasserwegen. Da fällt einem schon hin und wieder der Begriff Paradies ein.
Als schönsten Strand, Entfernung per Auto knappe Stunde, haben wir den Kiesstrand von Calahonda ausgemacht mit klarem Wasser und mit Blick auf von unzähligen Seevögeln bevölkerte Steilfelsen.
Granada ist vor allem bei Nacht wunderschön, eignet sich aber auch sehr zum Shoppen.
Eigentlich hätten wir viel mehr Zeit gebraucht, um alles in Ruhe genießen zu können und so steht fest, dass wir so bald wie möglich wieder kommen werden.

Hi,
If you want to enjoy a spectacular view, hear nothing but crickets and water flow.... if you want to relax in a beautifull surrounding and want to be spoild by Ziggy and Ella... this is the place to be!!!!! We had a wonderfull holiday in this romantic cortijo and are looking to go there again!!! There IS a heaven on earth... :-)

Ein Traumhäuschen für Romantiker

Vorweg vielen herzlichen Dank für Ihre Gastfreundschaft, die guten Tips (besonders was die Restaurants und Tapabars, aber auch die Flamencoshow in Granada betrifft), wie auch für den unvergesslichen Abschieds - Grillabend auf der Terrasse. Eine herrliche Aussicht überall! Wir haben Ihr Flamencospiel unter dem Sternendach und den leckeren Rotwein sehr genossen. Besonders für mich als Hobbyfotografen war es bei Ihnen in der Alpujarra ein Eldorado, nur habe ich leider das Bergadlerpärchen nicht "erwischt". Dafür habe ich aber die Alhambra ausgiebigst abgelichtet...
Wir konnten uns so richtig erholen und die Ruhe geniessen. Besonders hübsch ist es auf dem Balkon, gerade in der Morgensonne. Überhaupt ist es für Naturliebhaber ein kleines Paradies.
Meine allgemeine Bewertung kann nur gut ausfallen:
Die Lage ist zentral, ruhig, tolle Aussicht auf die Berge, klare Luft, nicht zu heiß,
sauberes gepflegtes Häuschen mit viel Atmosphäre (die dicken Natursteinmauern sind urig),
den deutschen Fernseher brauchten wir kaum,
einige Restaurants sind besonders zu empfehlen- Los Castanos in Capileira, El Limonero in Orgiva, La Mora Luna in Mecina, Paco in Pitres, die Küche meiner Frau auf dem Balkon und natürlich Ihr Barbecue...
Für Wanderer muss es hier toll sein, nur leider lassen unsere älteren Knochen keine Touren mehr zu. Aber wir konnten viel mit dem Auto erkunden. Das Buddhistenkloster in der Nähe müssen wir wohl beim nächsten Mal besuchen, eine Woche war viel zu kurz. Wie immer.
