The village of Montady can be seen from far away due to its tower from the 12th century on the hill in the centre of the old village district. The closest bigger city is Béziers, with its St. Nazareth Cathedral, which has a view over the river Orb. The region is characterized by countless beautiful villages, with its markets and vineyards, for example Minerve & Carcassonne. The world-famous Canal du Midi is never far enough. Colombiers is the headquarters for one of the largest boat rental companies on the entire canal. The Mediterranean Sea is only 20 minutes away by car. The closest coastal city is the resort of Valras Plage, with large sand beaches and a lot of coastal stores and restaurants, but outside of Valras you will also find secluded beaches. Further north is the coastal metropolis Cap d'Agde and the picturesque harbour Sete, while further south is the unspoilt fishing village of Collioure.
