This 75 m² flat with roof terrace at the same level was renovated in 2008 and professionally furnished. It has a 25m² terrace, a loftstyle living/dining room with a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a modern shower/bath in the middle. The holiday home has heaps of natural light and attracts with the charm of its old wooden beams, its partially original tile floors and art-deco doors. Additionally, it also offers all possible comforts like a dishwasher, a washing machine and a dryer and it is also equipped with a large flat-screen television with german and international channels and cableless WiFi. The bedrooms have very good new mattresses, 1 x 160x200 and 2 x 90x200. In summer the flat is very cool by the wind from the sea, in winter it is cosy through a modern heating which works with Ionen. It is perfekt for two couples, a family with 2 children or a businessman who wants to take advantage of the central location and the wireless.

The topfloor apartment Murillo is located in the calle Murillo, in the upper part of the trendy Santa Catalina district. It has the advantage that it is 5 minutes from a large variety of bars and restaurants, but the sound level isn't the same! Jaime III, the most elegant shopping street in Palma, is also 10 minutes away. Sta. Catalina is a very lively multikulti residential area with streets lined by trees and trendy stores and of course, don't forget the oldest market hall in the city. Nearby is the Plaza Progresso, from which the buses start. The holiday home is located across from a school so the room with the 2 single beds is not ideal for those who like to sleep long, but Spanish schools start at 9! And they have nearly 3 months of summer holiday. Otherwise, the holiday home is very peaceful as it is a topfloor and the street is a one way narrow street with little traffic. On the backside you have a view in the distance of the harbour and a fresh breeze from the sea.

  • A bedroom faces the back and is completely quiet. The mattresses are very new and are in good quality. White cotton bed sheets and white towels. The second bedroom faces the front, is made of two 90 beds that can be connected. This bedroom goes out onto the patio and the school yard in front of it, it is not ideal for those who sleep long. Otherwise it is quiter than the rest of Sta. Catalina with all the bars and resaturants.

on the next corner you find a very modern fitnessstudio and a new, big Eroskisupermarket. You can park on the street, or with tickets half day in the lower part of Sta. Catalina or the paseo mallorca parkhouse. The Club nautico and the paseo maritimo you can reach in 10 minutes by foot and the avendia Jaime III as well in10 minutes. The avenida jaime III turns into the calle murillo which is a narrow one waystreet with little traffic.

Das Appartment liegt im Santa Catalina Viertel. Dieses Viertel ist nicht touristisch und man fühlt sich so richtig in Spanien, was ja auf Mallorca nicht immer selbstverständlich ist :-). Diese Lage ist ideal, da man von Palma aus gut alle Inseltouren (wir hatten die ganze Woche ein Auto) starten kann, die Altstadt ist 5 Minuten entfernt, so dass man prima Shoppen und abends sowohl in der Altstadt als auch bspw. in der Calle de San Magie im Catalina Viertel in einer der zahlreichen Bars und Restaurants sehr gut essen oder noch was trinken gehen kann. Neben dem in der Nähe gelegenen Supermarkt kann man sein Gemüse, Obst, Fisch etc. auf dem großartigen Mercado Santa Catalina ebenfalls zu Fuß erledigen. Ausstattung ist schlicht (besonders die Kochausstattung), aber geschmackvoll und die Böden und alten Türen sind echt toll. Hier lügen die Fotos nicht! Der Hausverwalter ist sehr nett und stand uns jederzeit zur Verfügung, Kontakt zur Vermieterin ebenfalls sehr sympatisch und sie war gut per Mail und telefonisch erreichbar.

Ich persönlich würde bei meiner nächsten Mallorca-Reise eher nach einer Unterkunft suchen, die schöner und ruhiger gelegen ist, zum Beispiel in den Bergen oder am Meer. Leider geht die Terasse Richtung Norden (immer schattig) und die Schule gegenüber ist doch ganz schön laut. Da bekommt man fürs selbe Geld sicher in dieser Hinsicht schönere Unterkünfte auf der Insel.

Resumee: Insgesamt eine tolle Wohnung, wenn man die Stadt mag, viel Zeit in Palma verbringen möchte und von hier aus die Insel erkunden will.

Die Wohnung eignet sich hervorragend als Standort in Palma um von dort die Insel zu erkunden, alles war in sehr gutem Zustand, liebevoll vorbereitet und geschmackvoll ausgestattet; auf der Terasse kann man morgens in der Sonne frühstücken und ist ganz nahe am Geschehen von Santa Catalina, mit Markt und Flair.
Eine günstige und schöne Wohnung.
