The house is situated 3,5 km outside Noto, a town with 23,000 inhabitants, surrounded by almond and lemon orchards. Noto is probably the most beautiful baroque town in Sicily and was made a World Heritage Site three years ago. It possesses a wealth of art works and archaeological curiosities (32 churches, palaces, theatres etc.) It takes 6 minutes to get to the sea by car. Long sandy beaches alternate with rocky reefs, so it’s perfect for families with young children, as well as for snorkelling or diving. There’s no shortage of things to see. There are great excursions to Siracusa (Greek and Roman theatre, Dionysus’ Ear, catacombs, the cathedral, the Old Town), Modica, Ragusa, Agrigent, Enna, Piazza Armarina, Etna, Vendicari nature conservation area, Taormina and so on. Every evening in high season there are films and concerts (modern and classical).
