The open plan 1.5 room apartment offers enough room for 2 people. The apartment has its own entrance with a terrace and is located on the 2nd floor on the left side of the estate. Holderbergerhof was renovated in an ecological fashion using natural materials. It was furnished for enjoyment and relaxation. The original historical walls are still intact and the wooden flooring, a marble bathroom and clay walls add to the ambiance. One can relax and sleep on the handcrafted wooden bed with horsehair mattresses. The roomy kitchen with a comfortable rocking chair invites you to cook, eat and socialize. We will gladly provide you with maps for hiking and biking as well as with recommendations for restaurants and other leisure activities.

The easiest way to get to Urbar is via the interstate (Autobahn) A48, taking the exit “Bendorf/Vallendar”. Holderbergerhof is about a one hour drive from Cologne, Frankfurt and the airports Cologne/Bonn and Frankfurt Hahn. From Holderbergerhof you can reach the historic fortress of Ehrenbreitstein, the second largest of its kind in Europe (after the one at Gibraltar) in a few minutes by car. A public swimming-pool, a golf court and a number or wellness-facilities are close by as well. Driving along the river Rhine from Koblenz you can visit various castles and the legendary rock of Loreley in the upper middle-Rhine-valley that has been declared world cultural heritage by Unesco. One thing not to miss is a trip up the river Mosel to visit one of Germany’s finest winegrowing areas. Take a stroll through the romantic vintage villages enjoy regional dishes along with samples of some of the best wines Germany has to offer.

Wir wollten ein erholsames Wochenende verbringen und durften ein Stueckchen Paradies geniessen! Abgesehen davon, dass die Vermieterfamilie mit ihrer unkonventionellen und offenen Art sofort unsere Herzen erobert hat, haben wir uns in dieser wunderschoenen, romantischen und urtuemlichen Wohnung vom ersten Augenblick an wohlgefuehlt: selbst gebaute und liebevoll restaurierte Moebelstuecke, eine funktionell gut durchdachte und gleichzeitig individuell ausgestattete Wohnung mit vielen kleinen Details, die zum Wohlfuehlen einladen, die kleine gemuetliche Terrase, auf der man herrlich fruehstuecken kann, der wunderschoene naturnahe Garten etc. Wir waren viel mit dem Rad unterwegs (es sollte schon ein Rad mit mehreren Gaengen sein...) auf den angrenzenden, ausgebauten Radwegen, im Wald und zum nur ca. 6km entfernten Deutschen Eck sowie zur Koblenzer Altstadt. Wir wissen, dass wir noch vieles haetten entdecken koennen und werden deshalb auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!!! Kurz gefasst:Erholung pur vom ersten Augenblick an :-)
