Scario is a romantic, small and rather quiet coastal village with only about 1,200 residents, on the southern edge of the sea and nature park Porto Infresci at the beginning of the Gulf of Policastro. Its mystery charms are typical southern Italian hospitality, clear seawater and the excellent location.
The magnificent views over the 1500-meter-high mountains of Calabria, which seems as they ascend from sea, and even up to the famous statue of Christ Maratea can be enjoyed in clear weather situation.
Around Scario are some narrow beaches, they can be well arrived on foot. Many palms, nice pubs and small shops enliven the small and beautiful port promenade.
The coast between Scario and Marina di Camerota is filled with numerous caves and bays. Many secluded beaches are just reachable over the seaside or on foot. Boat trips to the caves and different beaches are offered on Scarios port.
