The house in the historical centre of the village is constructed from stone around a circular staircase that ends in a once fortified watchtower. Completely and luxuriously restored to combine historic with modern, its character of the Middle Ages remains but with all modern comforts, such as central heating with under-floor heating for the winter, air-conditioning in the main bedroom for the summer, large fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms, etc. It can sleep up to 12 persons. 2 in the main bedroom with bath and shower, 2+2 in Bedroom 2 with mezzanine and shower, 2 in Bedroom 3 with shower, 2 in Bedroom 4 with balcony and shower and +2 if needed in the living room on a sofabed. Kitchen/dining room for 12; Living room with mezzanine; inner courtyard open to a room with a Louis XIV fireplace, bar/kitchen, BBQ, table for 12 and an adjoining grotto plunge pool (1.5m x 2m x 3m with counter-current); watchtower with beautiful 360° view; sun terrace.

Nézignan l’Evêque was in the possession of the bishops of Agde for 800 years and lies on a hill that gives it its typical provincial character. The around 600 year old, fully restored house complex is situated in the quiet, listed heart of the village that is one of the rare villages built in the spiral method - so-called 'en circulade' - of the Middle Ages to defend itself better. The sunny village, surrounded by vineyards, has its own bakery, post office, bar, good restaurant and small grocer. Only 3km away is the wonderful little town of Pézenas with its historic old town, restaurants, antique shops, weekly market and good shopping. The closest beaches are only 15km away; other long, attractive sandy beaches are between Agde and Sète as well as in the direction Narbonne - all three places well worth a visit. Inland is a wildly romantic area with canyons, caves, Lake Salagou with sailing and beautiful hiking trails in a rocky Mediterranean landscape.
