Our small village is roughly 85km west of Vienna, half way up to the ridge 'Jauerling', 300 altimeters above the UNESCO word cultural heritage Wachau. On a clear day you can spot the summits of the alps as well as the danube river passing through Wachau. Wachau is well known for vinaries and orchards. Tourism starts in spring time when apricot trees show blossoms and usually ends with the late wine harvest. Especially white wines obtain a unique bouquet on the stone terraces and attract tourisms in the same way as the medieval architecture of the villages.
Situated slightly out of Wachau our village enjoys total calmness. A couple of family friendly hiking trails lead through the fields and forsts of the Jaulering area. Here you can pick mushrooms, try out your mountain bike, ride a horse, or assist in the hey harvest. A lot of small restaurants offer traditional and inexpensive meals.
