Villa Amy is a comfortable, modern villa and the perfect place for a calm and relaxing holiday. Situated amongst the sloping hills outside the perfume city of Grasse, it enjoys a green surrounding, with olive trees, lemon trees and palm trees. From the garden, you catch a glimpse of the Mediterranean beyond the olive trees. The French glass doors of the combined living-room/kitchen open onto the terrace, the garden, and the swimming-pool. Light comes into the living-room from three ends, and the high ceiling creates a wonderful feeling of space. On winter evenings, the open fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. There are three double bedrooms, all with two single beds that can be put together. One is on the ground floor with an adjacent shower and a separate toilet. The two other bedrooms are on the top floor, with a full bathroom between them. Although it’s calm and peaceful, the lights of Grasse are only 10 mins away. The beach is a 30 mins and the airport a 40 mins drive.

There is also a place near the swimming pool to play bowls. This is an area where the golfer can chose between several options. At least a handful of golf courses are in the immediate surroundings. You are also close to the mountains, with the hilltop village of Gourdon and the beautiful wild nature around the canyon 'Gorges du Loup'. This area offers wonderful hikes! Grasse has an interesting Old Town, and the perfume factories are of course a must. Drive for 15 min, and you are on the A8 motorway which takes you to Nice and on to Italy or all the way to Paris. Fashionable Cannes is reached in half an hour, St Tropez in about one hour. The many art museums of the Côte d´Azur are reached well within the hour.

Very much enjoyed the stay here. It is very difficult to find so make sure, before you set off, you get full instructions for finding it. Not even sure SatNav always manages to locate it accurately. Once there, it feels beautifully remote, yet it's only about four miles from Grasse itself. We took advantage of the great rail service from Grasse to get to all the main Riviera towns and cities and beaches. The house itself is nicely arranged, though it can get pretty hot as there isn't air-conditioning. But a very nice pool and a great feeling of privacy.
