This Luxury detached 'home from home' 3 double bedroom villa is one of the nearest to the lake and close to the typical Spanish village of Los Romanes. Fully equipped kitchen with all modern appliances, dining area, sitting room with log fire and all bedrooms have fitted wardrobes with one en suite and a separate shower room. This is a wonderful area for relaxation among olive groves and mountains. Nearby are excellent local restaurants and local supermarkets. Vinuela village is a cluster of houses around a 16th century church. The villa is within easy reach of several whitewashed villages. Nerja is 30 minutes drive famous for its Caves, Malaga airport is 45 minutes distant. The nearest beach is Torre del Mar which is 15 minutes drive away with its beach restaurants, and 10 minutes drive is the main shopping mall and hypermarket. Also a worthwhile visit with the children is the Aqua Velis an Aqua park. Nearby is a karting track which offers an alternative afternoon out.

Nearby is a natural park, El Acazar, a pine forest, where you can walk and picnic, here you can see a wide variety of wildlife, eagles deer and wild boar. Natural features of the area include the beautiful mountain pass of Zafarraya leading into Granada province. Three miles from the village of Zafarraya you will find the natural sulphur springs of Las Majadas. Sample the local wine and food in the many villages surrounding the lake and beyond. In the local markets you can find fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and shellfish and olive oil for which this region is famous for. There is also the yacht club at Caleta. Ski-ing is 1.5 hours away at Sierra Nevada, Granada with its shops and restaurants. A day not to be missed is to be spent at the famous Alhambra Palace, Granada. One of the two local golf courses is only 15 minutes away at Bavaria Golf in Caleta, Club Anorets is 25 minutes away

The master bedroom has one double bed and there is a travel cot available with linen provided. This room has the en suite. There are a further 2 twin bedded rooms all having built-in wardrobes and chest of drawers. The shower room serves these bedrooms. Linen and Towels are provided. The villa has air conditioning with ceiling fans, and full gas central heating. The sitting room seats 6 and has a log burner, satellite T.V, DVD/Video. The dining area seats 6. The kitchen is a good size and fully equipped, including fridge/ freezer, microwave, main oven, 4 gas rings, washing machine, dishwasher. Outside the villa has a lovely verandah with ample seating with sofa and chairs. Also a dining table and chairs for lazy BBQ evenings, enjoying the beautiful views all around of the Sierras of Alhama, Tejada, and Maijara. The verandah is gated before four steps lead down to a large terrace with BBQ. On this level is the 8 x 4 private swimming pool. 6 sun loungers are also around this area.

The villa is all on one level and is easy accessible with ample parking. Local things to do include cycling, fishing, golf, horse riding, walking, bowling, cinemas, aquapark, bird watching, swimming, go-karting, hiking, mountaineering and visiting the museums in Malaga. In the months of July/August there are local fiestas to which everyone is invited to join in.

We had a great week and the view over the Lake will remain in my head as a very special place! What a fabulous, stunning villa!

A truly astounding panorama from the terrace which we wanted to bring home with us, as well as being well designed, well equipped, well kept, clean, comfortable, good value and in a great place. Naturally we spent stacks of time in the pool and even more lazing on the excellently furnished terrace.

We have done villa holidays for about a decade now, always somewhere different, and this one shot to the top of the league table. We just loved it!

From the moment we came over the hill from Velez Malaga and saw the incredible colour of the lake we knew this would be special. No place for nightlife and noise lovers, mind you. The restaurant, up the hill at the entrance to Los Romanos, with its chargrilled food was of very high quality, we went three times in two weeks.

The Eroski Hypermarket in the El Ingenio shopping mall in Velez stocked everything you could want, but could be a nightmare at peak time - go in the afternoon if you can!! Local shopping in Vinuela is also convenient with English papers, a good range of produce an excellent baker and a good butchery as well.

Altogether a good location with access to cracking scenery in the mountains, especially if you like adventurous bendy hill country roads like me, and beach resorts only 20 minutes away. Although 45 minutes away, we thought Almuñecar was marvellous and we went there twice. Some of the resorts in between - we did not hang about.

A hire car was essential and Helle Hollis, just off airport via a courtesy bus at Malaga, were superb as well.

It's the accommodation that makes or breaks the holiday, though, and this is one villa we would happily tell our best friends to book into.
