Photos and Description of this Arles holiday house

The house dates back to the 16th century and has stone walls and antique woodwork. In the past this street was inhabited by peasant farmers who's land was adjacent, just behind the surrounding wall. The house now has central heating and air-conditioning. The shower room is separate from the WC. I have furnished it in a modern and practical way and decorated it with modern art and a few objects collected on my travels, to give the house a personal touch. The central location of the house in the Arles hills means you are within walking distance of the town. This area of Arles, Hauture, is very quiet because the traffic is regulated. Nevertheless, there is free parking nearby on La Place de la Redoute.

Location: Arles in France

Built in the hills around Arles, a few metres from Arènes and the Roman Théâtre Antique, in the very quiet Hauture district. You will be in the middle of a 2000 year old town which you can explore on foot! This area has a slow pace of life, like in a village. The traffic is regulated. You will find several restaurants and shops, as well as a beautiful public garden (shaded, quiet, children's play area). Arles is the former Roman capital and boasts and abundance of archaeological treasures. It also has lots of modern culture such as a photography festival, bullfighting and music. Arles is an excellent base from which to discover Provence, the pre-Alps, Avignon or Nimes. The fun of the seaside is not far away: within half an hour you can drive through Camargue to the beaches in Saintes Maries de la Mer or Salin de Giraud, where you may see flamingos.

Everything is included in the price except for long distance telephone calls and cleaning. The house is normally available from 5pm on a Saturday until 10am the following Saturday. I will greet you to show you around and give you the keys. The cost is payable on arrival. Dogs are welcome.

  • 350 EUR per week in the winter, 450 EUR in summer, 750 EUR during the "Rencontres" (international photography festival). Price reductions for stays of several weeks. To book, there is a non-refundable down payment of 100 EUR.

  • There is a separate room with a double bed (140cm), a single bed (90cm) on the mezzanine and a sofa bed for two in the living room. Bedding and towels are provided. My house can sleep up to five people. It is ideal for a couple or a family. The bed linen is new and the quiet district means you will sleep well. The bedroom has storage for clothes, a linen closet and a television with DVD player. The WC is separate from the shower room. The house has central heating and air-conditioning. Enjoy your stay!
