Idyllic Traditional Country Cottage set in the heart of France close to the banks of Lake Vassiviere, providing comfortable accommodation with open plan lounge, kitchen dinning room with shower room and toilet downstairs. Sun Terrace, Bar B Q, Parking . Upstairs two double bedrooms and one single bedroom with further house bathroom. Excellent Beach and Sailing. Great centre for outdoor activities. Stunning scenery. Good walking, cycling, fshing.

The Village of Vauviex is a quite hamlet set on the shores of Lake Vassiviere, near the market town of Eymoutier, 40 minutes drive or a short train journey from Limoges. Drive from Boulogne/Calais 6 hours, flights from Liverpool , East Midlands or Stanstead by Ryanair approx 1 hour. Set amidst stunning scenery with woods and rolling hills from where you can explore the country lanes on foot, bicycle or on horseback or just relax by the lake. Excellent Sailing with Sailing school, Catamarans, dinghies, windsurfers, canoes and pedaloes. Safe swimming, Beach Volley ball courts, New rope works activity centre for all ages within walking distance. Local Bar with terrace and stunning lake view, two local restaurants and a small supermarket in the summer season.

Try any number of short or long walking loops, themed walking circuits or the more challenging Grande Randomee hiking routes criss-crossing Limousin. The area is a Paradise for fishermen with some of the finest fish in Europe trout, carp, pike, salmon . You can also explore the botanical gardens , relax with a round of golf or ride out from the local equestrian centre, visit museums and factory shops or try your hand at volley ball, basket ball and tennis using the courts along the lake bank.

Limoges: Close by is the magnificent historic city of Limoges just forty minutes drive or a short train journey where you can watch the world go by from the terrace of a pavement cafe, dine in excellent restaurants or visit its old town. Famous for its porcelain and enamelware, it also offers adventure playgrounds, animal parks and an aquarium.

The accommodation was first class; it was clean, well equipped and very close to the beach. Set is a lovely location, I will definately go again.
