Come and holiday in one of our four well appointed gites at Etang du Chaiseau, situated in the Southern Loire within easy reach of the beautiful Chateaux. The four gites are situated on our 100 acre private estate with its 30 acre lake situated 100 metres from the gites. Take in all the pleasures of the French countryside - enjoy walking our miles of private woodland paths, fishing for zander, roach or carp up to 45lb in our lake or bird watching in our unspoiled meadows. Alternatively, you can just relax by the swimming pool in beautiful rural surroundings. You need never leave the grounds if all you require is a tranquil country holiday. Although set in total seclusion we are still only 2 km from Le Petit Pressigny and 5 km from Preuilly sur Claise which have all the restaurants and shops, all open throughout the year, you would need to make your holiday complete. Situated in Southern Loire, Etang du Chaiseau is very strategically located - the famous Châteaux of the Loire are only a short drive away. If you have more modern tastes, Futuroscope at Poitiers is well worth a visit. The local area also provides attractions in the beautiful towns of La Roche Posay, Angle sur l’Anglin and the historic (and prehistoric) charms of Le Grand Pressigny and Preuilly sur Claise. The nearest towns are Le Petit Pressigny, Preuilly sur Claise and Loches which have all the shops and restaurants you will need. At nearby Azay le Ferron there is a Wildlife Park which the children will love and also a wonderfully furnished Chateaux for the adults. The Brenne National Park is abundant with lakes and bucket and spade beaches as well as being a famous bird watching area. With two golf course's within a 15min drive both offering a full 18 holes and daily fees there is something in our locality for all tastes.

  • L'HIRONDELLE CAN BE LET AS A 2 BEDROOM OPTION at 80% of price. (Not high season). Xmas and New Year weeks - £765 per week. 25% deposit requested on reservation. Balance plus £100 returnable security deposit 8 weeks before arrival. Electricity included 1st April till 1st November. A weekly allowance is allowed in the winter - extra usage paid at standard EDF rates on departure.
  • Payment in any currency by Bank to Bank or Cheque.

All our gites have mainly ensuite shower rooms which is very important in this day and age. They all have their own washing machines and the larger gites have dishwashers. English satellite TV and radio are installed. There is Broadband internet access so bring your laptop and internet phone to keep you in touch back home to add to your peace of mind. Low season changeover day and length of stay very adaptable.

Fishing

Lake fishing available exclusively for our guests. No extra charges at any time of the year although each gite has its own rod number limit. Contact us for our website at Le Chaiseau for more details and photos on the 'fishery' link page. Fishing 'safari's' to local Rivers can be organised with Roger as an extra.

Bird Watching

A huge number of both resident and migratory birds visit our estate and the local area including migrating cranes and waders. European Bee Eater's can be found in the locality. Contact us for our website at Le Chaiseau for more details and photos on the 'Wildlife' link page.

Thank you for giving us such a restful and enjoyable week at Le Chaiseau. We had been hoping for a quiet and peaceful time in the middle of our fairly busy holiday schedule and you most certainly provided the perfect environment. La Chouette was so comfortable and lacked absolutely nothing in creature comforts. The view of the lake from our window was a bonus which we appreciated enormously - Mike and Rosemary Tomlin, UK.
