Built in 1996 in all-wood, this chalet lies at the foot of a beautiful piste and about 150 metres from the 6-man express lift up into the Portes du Soleil system. It is situated about 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Les Gets, a beautifully maintained old Savoyard village with a long tradition of skiing. Keen skiers can ski from the chalet to Switzerland and back in a day. There are 2 bedrooms with double beds and 2 bedrooms with a pair of single beds in each. The living room has comfortable soft furniture at one end with an open fireplace and a kitchen-diner at the other end with a large pine dining table and chairs for 8. The kitchen area has all the equipment that any guest is likely to want and plenty of crockery, glasses and cutlery. The shower room downstairs has a washer/dryer. There is a large decked terrace outside the living room and guests can use the garden furniture. There is a garage with room for all ski equipment and a carport.

Notes to the rental rates

• (i) The rates include electricity (heating is all-electric) and logs.
  
• (ii) The rates do not include cleaning. It is the guests responsibility to leave the chalet in the condition in which they find it. This is normal in rented accommodation in the French Alpine resorts. However, we have secured the services of an excellent chalet management team who will provide end-of-stay cleaning, as well as bed linen and towel hire. This can all be arranged through the owners. The end-of-stay clean is cheaper if booked through the owners.
  
• (iii) A damage/cleaning deposit of £450 is payable when the full payment is made and is returnable on departure, subject to any due deductions which the owners would expect to agree with the renters. The chalet is inspected by the caretaker on the day of departure and it is hoped that the guests would be present to discuss any possible deduction in advance. The owners very much hope that it will never be necessary to make any such deductions. None has been deducted so far.
  (iv) All prices are negotiable, particularly if more than 7 days are taken. The owner is prepared to let for less than 7 days at a price to be negotiated.
  (v) A non-refundable deposit of 25% is payable on booking. The balance is payable 6 weeks before the start date. (vi) Guests are encouraged to take out travel insurance in respect of any cancellation made after payment.

Ski equipment storage and cars:

Ski equipment can be stored in the racks in the garage. The car port is big enough for an MPV with box. The garage can house a medium-sized car with no box. In winter there is sufficient parking for only one more car outside the chalet and the carport due to the accumulation of snow, but in summer there is parking for 2 - 3 cars outside the chalet and the car port. It is advisable to have one set of snow chains in winter.

Smoking:

The chalet is let on a strictly 'no smoking' basis. The chalet is all wood and therefore vulnerable to fire. It is also impossible to remove the smell of cigarettes between guests. Guests can smoke outside but are asked to kindly not leave butts on the ground.

Skiing Information:

Les Gets is a well-known and popular ski resort. There is more than ample opportunity to buy and rent all manner of ski equipment and clothing from experts in the village. It is also possible to have rented ski equipment brought to the chalet for fitting and delivery/return. The ESF school is very busy and it may be advisable to prebook lessons, in particular individual ones. There are excellent child-care facilities available for babies and small children in the centre of the village but it is important to reserve places in advance.
