Lavatoggio village, alt 350m, in Balagne, btwn Calvi + Ile Rousse. Self-catered house, all mod-cons, garden. Near shops, mountains, sea + beach. Car can be kept close to house. Comfortable house near lots of activities. Tourist attractions nearby inc. vineyards + wine cellars, potters, cutlers, glassblowers, oil presses, concerts (e.g. PIGNA auditorium, 5 miles), convents + churches (e.g. MURO, 4 miles). Visit Calvi with its beach, rocks + pine forest: walk, fish or swim. Further afield there?9s SPELUNCATO + GIUSSANI country brought alive in Jul-Aug by the international theatre association which features amateur and professional theatrical performances. For history, visit the old citadel + museum in the capital CORTE (36 miles) + the citadel in BASTIA. For rocky views see the mountains (e.g. VIZZAVONA to AJACCIO), + PIANA with is red rocky inlets, a great sight in the evening. 36 miles across the Agriates desert via an excellent winding road is SAINT-FLORENT giving acces to "Cap Corse"

Location: Lavatoggio in France

Nearest Airport: Calvi at 20 Kilometres
Nearest Ferry: Calvi at 20 Kilometres
Nearest Train: Algajola at 10 Kilometres
Its altitude of 350 metres means that the village of Lavatoggio has a milder climate than the coastal villages. It is easily reached by car and is less than half an hour from Calvi-Ste Catherine airport and the ferry ports in Calvi and Ile Rousse, from where there are many connections to Paris, Lyon , Marseille, Nice etc and foreign Countries in Summer. The village is 1 hour from Bastia and 2.5 hours from Ajaccio. The house has clear views to the North over the large, private park (where your car can be safely garaged), across the Algajola plains to the coast, views to the west of the countryside and mountains and views to the east over the village. The three terraces allow you to enjoy these views thoroughly. One of these is ideal for outdoor dining being on the ground floor close to the kitchen and boasting garden furniture and parasol, as is the garden with its barbeque , trees and green for shade. Garden gives acces to car park ( up to 3 cars )at 50 meters on a private ground .

On receipt of the down payment by cheque or bank transfer, the owner will send the guests all the documentation needed to reach the village and house. The guest is asked to ring the owner to confirm their arrival. You will be welcomed either on your arrival All linen is provided (blankets, table cloths, tea towels, bathroom tows, beach towels) and is cleaned and tidied before your arrival. Please leave the linen as you founded it; washing powder can be found in the cellar. Please also leave all rooms and appliances clean when you leave. Otherwise you will be liable to pay the owner for cleaning at rasonable cost .

  • Reservation deposit : 30% of the rental price.
  • The cost to rent this house (500-900 EURweek depending on the season) does not depend on the number of people staying. To secure the booking you must pay a down payment of 30 percent of the total cost. The balance is payable on arrival. Rent is by the week, from Saturday or Sunday until the following Saturday or Sunday. This can be changed depending on availabilityand on your desire . So as not to eat into our guests holiday time, the inventory on arrival and departure is limited to making sure all the appliances, taps and plumbing are in working order and that fragile and valuable objects are safe. The inventory on departure will be carried out by both parties and any damage by the guests will be amicably discussed and immediately settled.

  • The house has two shower rooms, each with a shower, sink, mirror and hair dryer. Hot water comes from an electric tank. One shower room is within a bedroom as described above. The other is separate. There is also a separate WC. Electric fixed heaters can be used from October November to April, for a charge calculated on the meter readings on your arrival and departure.

  • This house has 3 bedrooms, each with wardrobes or cupboards for clothes and personal belongings: 1 large 14 m2 room with a double bed, bedside lamp, desk, chair, 2 wardrobes, television and east-facing 10 m2 terrace with table, chair and parasol; 1 9m2 bedroom with shower, sink, 2 single beds which can be pushed together to make a double, wardrobe, 2 bedside tables with linen drawers and lamps and a north-east facing terrace with a table and chair and views of the sea and the mountains; 1 9m2 bedroom ideal for children but suitable for adults also, with 2 bunk beds ( total 4 beds ), 2 lamps, 1 wardrobe, 1 chest of drawers (4 drawers) for linen and a prie-dieu inherited from the previous owners of the house. There is also a benchbed (120x190cm) in the dining room with a TV.

Notes: The kitchen and dining room are well stocked with utensils, crockery and cutlery. In the kitchen there is a butane gas cooker (4 hob rings, 1 oven), microwave, pressure cooker, sink with draining board, hot + cold water, dishwasher, washing machine and a large fridge with small freezer compartment. In the dining room there is an oblong table which sits 8-10 people, TV, DVD player, radio, CD player, playing cards and the bench bed mentioned above. For babies we provide a cot, high-chair and garden toys. There is an iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner and cleaning products. In the cellar under the kitchen terrace there is a chest freezer, another fridge, a charcoal barbeque, table football, a sink with cold water, the electric water tank, a charger for 6-12 volt batteries and a water pump.
