Finca La Palmera is unique in that it is one of the few remaining Andalucian Fincas (farmhouses) that is still original although updated with the usual conveniences. This is a beautiful, charming, rambling, rustic Spanish farmhouse, full of nooks and crannies, surrounded by the deep shade of trees and vines, with floors of terracotta clay tiles, wooden beams in ceilings, and rough plastered whitewashed walls. This property is a rural retreat of a best selling author and is ideal for country lovers, yet it is only 4 kilometres to the village with all amenities and 25 minutes to the coast by good roads. The accommodation is charming. If you love character, individuality and somewhere secluded and peaceful well this is it! How many places do you know that can boast a little snug bar with its own fireplace and a Roman style jacuzzi, all in the most beautiful Andalucian tiles. A great place to relax with a glass or two of champagne.

Finca La Palmera is secluded but not isolated and is in an ideal location to experience the 'Real Spain' an area peppered with traditional Spanish restaurants (Ventas) amid breathtaking mountain views. The property is situated at the end of a half a Kilometre dirt track and it is accessible by a car. There is plenty to see and do in this area the drive to the historic town of Ronda is one not to be missed and the famous Alhambra Palace in Granada is an interesting 2 hour drive. If the glitz of Puerto Banus and the shopping or beaches in Marbella is more your thing then the 'new' road will have you there in under 25 minutes! The Seve Ballesteros-designed Alhaurin golf course is just 10 minutes by car as are the riding stables at the Alhaurin Country Club.

COIN: Situated in the valley of the Rio Grande in the province of Malaga, Coín is one of the most up and coming villages on the Costa del Sol. This once small village is expanding at an amazing pace and is fast becoming a place of residence for many foreigners. There are about 20,000 registered residents. Coín is located about a 30-minutes drive from Fuengirola and 20 minutes from Mijas. Coín also houses and important ceramics factory, located on the main road from Fuengirola and a working film studio that was once the set for the TV series‘El dorado’. The studio is located on the outskirts of Coín, alongside the main highway to Marbella. The studio is also used as a hotel and restaurant The centre of Coín has a wonderful plaza where the old Town Hall is located and local residents sit and while away the hours. The new Town Hall is located in another new plaza with an underground car park, fountains, gardens and several fine bars.

Golf: For the golfer there are many courses to choose from. The local ones are Alhauring golf, which was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and is 15 minutes by car and [Lauro golf, which is about 20 minutes. La Cala Golf: The two golf courses at La Cala are the main attraction of the resort. Both, La Cala North (Par 73) and La Cala South (Par 72) have been designed by North American architect Cabell B. Robinson. La Cala Resort is an exclusive residential and recreational complex of approximately 1,000 acres situated between the 'Sierra de Mijas' National Park and the Mediterranean.

Skiing: The Sierra Nevada is a 2.1/2 hours drive where it is possible to ski and snowboard.
