Olvera:
Olvera is a white village set on a hillside. The people are very friendly and helpful. You won't walk far without hearing 'hola'. There are enough restaurants and bars to try something different every day. Eating out is much cheaper than the coast.
You will find all your daily needs in Olvera. There are a multitude of banks, supermarkets and shops. Recently a large supermarket has opened at the edge of the town which offers a wide selection of international products.
National Park and Lake:
Olvera is situated on the edge of a National Park.
It is one of 14 white villages in Andalusia and has some wonderful scenery and walks.
Lake Zahara is 25 kilometers drive. There are no motorised boats allowed on the lake, so this makes it very tranquil. There is an abundance of wildlife and you can walk for miles. Take a picnic lunch or have a meal in one of the local restaurants.
This property is on the market for 155,000 Euros. Purchase in part Stirling and part Euros would be acceptable.
Sevilla/Jerez/Granada:
Just one hours drive from Olvera, Sevilla is a must to visit. The city of the traditional flamenco and tapas.
Jerez (60km from Olvera) is another city well worth visiting and is 15km from the beach. Famous for its sherry and the Spanish Riding School.
If you visit Granada a must is a trip to the Alhambra Palace. Granada has some great skiing in the winter. There are many mountains and more olives trees than you can ever imagine!
There are several towns and villages within easy distance of Olvera such as Algodonales. There are many bars, restaurants, shops and here is where you can go paragliding!
Torre Alhamquime has a market and Ronda is full of history and is very lively with plenty of shops and sights to see.
El Burgo is ideal of nature lovers where you can watch eagles, vultures and hawks flying overhead. There are also mountain goats and wild cats.
The Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park is between Ronda and San Pedro and has beautiful landscapes.
