This attractive self contained apartment adjoining the 'Podere la Fonte' has two double bedrooms and two bathrooms (one ensuite). Apart from the living room, it is possible to enjoy time in the kitchen-dining room where there is a wood burning fire (in addition to the central heating throughout), one more reason not to rule out a stay in the autumn or winter when perhaps you can witness or take part in the wine and olive harvests and enjoy the taste of mushrooms and the lovely colours of our surrounding woodland. But if you prefer the warm months, then you will enjoy plenty al fresco eating on your patio fitted with table and chairs under the walnut tree reserved for your own use. This may be just what you need after a trip to the nearby sandy Tuscan beaches which we find have a great pull on our guests. If you don't feel like cooking or going out to one of the many eating venues in the village or nearby, then we will supply meals can be supplied by prior arrangement with the owners.

“Il Noce”, is situated in a most spectacular position just below the ancient castellated village of Radicondoli (only five minutes walk). It has magnificent uninterrupted views over the Cecina valley and the surrounding hills, atop of which nestle Volterra, San Gimignano, Colle Val D'Elsa and many smaller villages. At night you can admire the stars from such an unspoilt vantage point while sipping the drink of your choice. Florence is one hour away and Siena, Volterra and San Gimignano just forty minutes by road. Plenty of lovely local walks and opportunity to visit natural pools in the nearby river Cecina. There are swimming pools within easy reach and in an hour you can drive to and enjoy sandy beaches just like the ancient Etruscan people did. Your hosts Emanuela and Marco look forward to welcoming you to their adjoining home. They will also give you every assistance to help you discover and understand the opportunities offered by the surrounding countryside and tourist attraction.

    FOOD PROVIDED ON REQUEST: breakfast, lunch and dinner can be arranged upon request. Our wholesome meals are based on our own organic produce: including cereals, vegetables, fruit, herbs, oil and wine. These provide us with the basic ingredients for our traditional healthy dishes. At breakfast we serve home produced jam and fruit juices. As far as possible we try to purchase all other produce from organic sources.
  • Arrivals and departures : We are open all the year round.
    Arrival time 16.00-21.00. Departure by 11.00 am please.
  • BOOKING CONFIRMATION: Within three working days of a provisional booking on the phone or by email, you are please requested to promptly arrange payment of 20 % of the overall charge as a non-returnable deposit. HOW TO PAY THE DEPOSIT:. Please contact us by email

Notes: At the front of Il Noce there is a large patio with table and chairs under a large walnut tree, there is also a patio at the rear of the property. The property is articulated on three levels and the two bedrooms and respective bathrooms are on different levels, so it is almost possible to think of the property as consisting of two flat lets as each has access to the outside.

Public tennis court (to be booked locally), 5 minutes walk. Nice natural pool in the river Cecina for splashing at ten minutes by car. Nature reserves nearby. There is always something of interest happening in this area, the heart of Tuscany. The accommodation is most comfortable in all weathers so why not consider a holiday here in the autumn or winter as well as spring and summer!
