Sailing:
The owners of the apartment believe that Lagos Marina is the best in the Algarve and have chosen to run their business from there. They have a sailing yacht in the Marina which is used for schooling and charter. The yacht is safety coded for 8 people and subject to availability, discounted prices are given to any apartment users who also wish to sail. For some information please see their website or ask for details.
Our Beaches:
The coastline around Lagos is in our opinion the best on the Algarve. The 5 km white sand beach of Meia Praia reaches round to Alvor, it is the nearest to the apartment and ideal for everybody. It remains uncrowded at the height of the season and has restaurants and beach bars where you can enjoy a drink or meal whilst watching the beach activities. To the west you will find the well known beach of Praira De Ana just a short stroll away. The beach is wild and beautiful being backed by cliffs and a little further round is the surfing beach of Praia de Porto de Moz. All are within walking distance. Lagos offers a host of activities to suit everybody and we will be more than happy to help you arrange these.
Additional Information:
Lagos is a beautiful town which has retained its Portuguese charm. There are a host of restaurants which offer varied menus and very good value for money fish being the local speciality. The town was founded by the Phoenicians and is steeping in history. It was used by Henry the Navigator as a base for African trade and remnants of the first slave market in Europe can be found alongside the old custom house. The town is pedestrianised and is therefore an ideal area to wander around and to see open air stalls and street performers. There is a daily fish market and the local Saturday fruit and vegetable market in the bus station is not to be missed. There is so much to see and the apartment is ideally located from which to take a stroll and take it all in. Lagos literally has something for everybody.
Golf:
The Algarve is a popular destination for golfing holidays. Large numbers of visitors come here for no other reason than to spend a week or two perfecting their skills. The region has 29 golf courses (at the last count!) and some are renowned throughout the world for their challenging terrain and beautiful surroundings. Lagos is an excellent base as well known courses are in easy reach and those who do not want to play can stay behind and enjoy the other activities that the area has to offer. Palmares and Boavista are the closest with a 5 minute drive and you will find the famous Parque de Floresta course 20 minutes away. If you wish to go further a field Penina and Alto courses are within easy reach with a 30 minute drive east. After a hard day on the golf course the town offers plenty of bars and restaurants for you to enjoy.
