This is the only cottage on a 600 m scenic cape. It is located near a nature reserve with hundreds of islands, which you can reach by boat or by skiing. In the autumn, there are lots of berries and mushrooms around the villa and on the islands. It is ideal for nature trekking in all seasons. Rowing boat is included in the rent. An outboard motor for rent by 40 Euro per week. Rubber boat for children. Sport ground and sport equipment for instance football, volley ball, badminton, basket ball, table tennis, darts, boxing punch bag with gloves, swing, petanque, and croquet. Rent of snow mobiles and safaris possible. There is a separate sauna building with cosy fireplace, barbecue pavilion. A guest house next to the main building for up to five sleeping places, additional rent. Paunu cottage, property number 30734, 500 m.

  • The prices are for 6 persons without the guest house. If the total number of guests is 7-8, then one or two persons can use the sauna building for accommodation. There is a sofa bed and the price is 15 €/person/night. If the total number of guests is 9-13, you need the quest house. There are 3 beds and a sofa bed for two. The total price for the guest house is 40 €/night. Max. extra price for 7 - 13 persons is 280 €/week (40 €/night).
  • Minimum stay or price on a midweek 3 days or 3 days' price. In July and in August the arrival/departure day is Saturday.

The lake: Lake Suontee (or Suonne) is over 30 km in length. The water is pure and crystal clear. The villa is situated by the southern part of Suontee, which is one of the most important areas of lake nature protection in Finland.

Fishing: Angling is free to everybody. For the guests of Akseli, fishing areas are large and you can fish with different kinds of methods. Bring your own equipment. For other types of fishing than angling you need to pay only the general national license (6 €/ week or 20 €/ year) to any bank or post office. Local licenses are already paid for you by the host. An ice drill is available for ice angling etc. You can also order fish from local fishermen. Their tel. numbers are in the cottage. Snow mobiles rent and safaris possible.

Skiing: Skiing center: 20 km, 8 km across the lake.

Other Activities: Football, volley ball, badminton, basketball, table tennis, darts, boxing punch bag with gloves, swing, betanque, croquet, rowing

Outstanding accommodations: nicely built and very comfortable 3-bedroom log cabin equipped with the modern appliances (last model washer, dryer, refrigerator, dish-washer, 2 flat-screen LCD TVs with satellite reception, air conditioner units) and 21st century technology such as wireless door looks, remote sensing electric switches, handless faucets, etc); detached sauna with living room and bathroom with 2 showers; sophisticated covered grill; swimming/fishing/boat deck; covered car-port for 2 cars that also accommodates a fantastic ping-pong table, small football field with 2 goals, badminton net, basketball board.
2. Great outdoor surroundings: gorgeous virgin forest with plentiful wild berries and mushrooms, beautiful lake with clear water; very quite remote location with no neighbors within half a kilometer. Perfect place for outdoor oriented people.

It was a dream vacation – 5 stars out of 5.

I only would like to say that the villa is wonderful (because of the house and the landscape, which is stunning) and recomend it to everybody. We didn´t have any problem during our stay (3 nights) in June 2009.
