La Garde Pile, originally a typical Lauragais barn, it has been renovated to highlight the regional signature red bricks, Garonne river stone-work, wooden beams and tile floors. At the edge of a cereal-producing agricultural domain the cottage neighbors the XIII century village church. Surrounded by the Lauragais rolling hills landscpace the gite offers superbs panoramic views of the Pyrenees mountains. Within a stone's throw of the GR653, a popular walking path, the cottage is at the intersection of many marked hiking trails connecting Mervilla to neighboring villages. The cottage is within easy access to highways A61 (Mediterranee), A64 (along the Pyrenees to the Atlantic), and the Toulouse ring-road (peripherique). The Toulouse International Airport at Blagnac is only a 20 minutes drive. And the direct metro line is 10 minutes away. The cottage is near Castanet Tolosan, a town where you can find shops, markets and services, some of them are open on sunday.
