Only a few hundred meters away from the house you will experience majestic mountains and hear the sounds of roaring waterfalls! During the winter they are frozen and you can listen to the echo of your own voice. Then there are also possibilities of cross-country and downhill skiing only half an hour away at the Myrkdalen fjellandsby. Nearby attractions are further: Drive the hairpin bends down from the famous view from Stalheim a short distance to the South. To the East travel with the steep Flåm railway where the line goes in stores below each other. The nearest glacier Nigardsbreen can be reached from the house two hours away North-East. When driving west you will first pass the small town Voss, famous for extreme sport, and after two hours the city of Bergen, with the fish market and Unesco site Bryggen.

Notes: Most of the building is the original from two hundred years back with a homely atmosphere, where the old unpainted logs are shown in the big sitting room. A grand piano can be played on request. New windows in the old style. 'The house has soul', one of our guests uttered. Still it is easy to live in, as all rooms are on one stock. The kitchen and dinner room are modern and practical, kept in a their natural wooden colour.

We lived in the 2nd home that can be rented from Mr. Ramsöy, very similar to the one offered here. The stay was lovely, it is a very nice house located in a beautiful location at the end of the Naeroyfjord with magnificient views, the area is a Unesco World Heritage site. You can do many nice trips by car in the area, e.g. to Bergen.
The hourse offers 3 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 living rooms, 2 bathrooms, one with shower, the second with toilet and basin.
Mr. Ramsöy was very friendly and helpful and his wife has a nice little shop in Gudvangen town.
Food shopping can be done in the small shop at the Shell station in Gudvangen or some approx. 25 km drive to Aurlandsvangen.

Wonderful traditional wood house

We enjoyed our holidays in a wonderful traditional wood house with a big living room (with a grand piano!) facing the fantastic Naeröy-Fjord. The direct access to the waterfront and the solitude made us forget the stress of everyday-life. From our bed we could watch the change of a waterfall‘s course because of the wind blowing along the dramatic rock-face and every day the fjord looked different.
One can make fantastic daytrips to splendid natural highlights. To see and live Norway from this place is unique!
We wish to thank our landlords a lot for their hospitality and affability. It was one of our best holidays.

What a magnificent place to have a vacation

The location of the property was absolutely fantastic. This is a must when visiting Norway. Upon arrival we were shown around the cottage by Asbjoern ... everything was clean and perfect. Asbjoern was very helpfull as we had to transport all our luggage up the hill to the cottage as the track was worn and needed a 4x4. We had our luggage transported down agin when we left. GOOD SERVICE. We would like to reccomend this property to anyone that wants to experience Norway in its true nature and traditions. There are a lot of daily excurtions that one can take that meets all the requirements of a family with grown chidren. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Thanks to Asbjoern and Torill for a fantastic holiday.
