About me & my chalet:
I'm Bridget Daley, the owner and host of Chalet Raphael in Méribel.
For those of you who enjoy the combination of good food and wine, very comfortable accommodation and relaxation that a chalet based holiday offers, need look no further than what Chalet Raphael has to offer.
There is a difference here that you will notice - not only the location, 60 metres from the bus stop. Also the space of six good sized bedrooms all with en-suites, the large living room with terrace and the separate dining room with open fire. Also by arrangement, the food which is freshly prepared including, where possible, local, free range and organic sources. Special diets and vegetarian meals are no problem.
What to do in summer?:
When the snow melts and the leaves and the flowers come out there is no better place to relax and you will be assured of a warm welcome and great food (by arrangement).
For the more energetic there is 100kms of marked mountain bike routes and endless walking in the Vanoise National Park. An 18 hole golf course, horse riding, tennis, swimming pool, parapenting, climbing, rafting and kayaking are also available.
How we take care of you at Chalet Raphael:
After a hearty cooked or buffet breakfast you only have 150 metres to walk to the lift or 60 metres to the bus stop.
A freshly prepared, home made four course dinner can be provided and is served by candlelight with a wide selection of local and regional wines. The crackle of the open fire enhances the ambience.
If you have any energy left there are the bars and night clubs a short ride away but for most a game of cards, a relaxed chat over the days events or an early night are the more likely close to a day in the mountains.
Ski:
In the heart of the Three Valleys - the largest linked ski area in the world - with 600 kms of piste and unlimited off piste you will not get bored!
The speed at which you can be at over 3000 metres altitude and the 500 snow canons in the Méribel valley ensure that there is always plenty of good skiing be it early December or April.
For most of the winter it is possible to ski back to the front door of the chalet and the local lift is only 150 metres walk away. For those who do not return on skis there are ski lockers located in the central lift area for your use. You can leave your skis and your boots on boot warmers overnight, so that you are free to wander around the town in comfortable footwear to shop or have a drink before heading back to the chalet for dinner.
