Located on the Eastern tip of the island of Pico, our Quinta offers you a beautiful view of the neighbour island São Jorge. On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of the island of Terceira. The sound of the birds chirping and the many trees and flowers on the grounds will provide you with a relaxing stay. The modern architecture blends in with the lava rock and gardens outdoors. These gardens inspired us on giving the house its name: 'Hortênsia'. The holiday rental house is for self-catering.

Hortência was the first house to be built. It sits up high, perched on a base of lava rock. The house offers you 2 bed rooms (1 with a double bed and another with a double bed and a single bed) and can sleep up tp 6 people (we add an extra bed when needed). There is a bathroom, a kitchen with stove / oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster and coffee machine. Tere is also a lounge & eating area. From the balcony, Hortência also offers a beautiful view of São Jorge. This house is next to the Lookout and a BBQ & outdoor sitting area.

Piedade is located on the eastern tip of the island. A quiet village, it offers banks, supermarkets, cafés, a gas station and a pharmacy. This village has lava rock 'beaches' where you can go swimming or lay in the sun. There are many green fields where you can see cows grazing. Piedade is located near Lajes, a town which offers Whale Watching and Swimming with the Dolphins.

About Us:: Quinta do Milhafre is a small family business, built by the owners them selves. The idea is to provide guests with a relaxing vacation. We speak English, Portugues and a bit of German. Guests are welcome to use the different barbeque & outdoor sitting areas. We have a laundry service and are planning to build a playground for children and a library.

Our Quinta: We have 4 houses on our property: Hortênsia, Dália, Girassol & Magnólia. We also have various BBQ areas with outdoor tables. There is a lookout which gives you a beautiful view of our Quinta, its suroundings and of S. Jorge.
