The flat, comfortable and finely furnished,is located in Capaci a quite sea town near the Palermo city centre. Its size, 110 square metres, makes it fit to accommodate either a four member family or a group of seven people. In fact, it consists of a large living-room, a kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The living-room, with a balcony and a window, is furnished with a comfortable 3 seat sof a, a pouf, a unit with TV set, DVD player, CD player, a stereo set and the dinner table. Moreover, in case of large groups, the living-room may be used as a bedroom accommodating 3 more people: the sofa can be unfolded becoming a comfortable double bed and the pouf becomes a comfortable single bed. In this case, the dinner table must be set in the kitchen. There are 2 bedrooms: one has a double bed and the other two single beds. The two bathrooms have sink, bidet, shower and bathtub. The flat is air-conditioned. The kitchen is fully equipped, including oven, dish washer, washing machine.

The Gulf of Carini is the bay on the north-west of Palermo, between Capo Gallo and Punta Raisi. In the middle of the gulf, there are two resorts: Isola delle Femmine and Capaci - old fishing villages, today regionally protected natural reserve - with a large beautiful sandy beach and with an islet in front of them. Isola delle Femmine and Capaci beaches, well equipped during the bathing season, are destinations for tourists and holidaymakers. During the day you can relax lying under the sun on the wonderful sandy beach or enjoy practising swimming, water gym, windsurfing, beach volley or just walking along the coast. There are various attractions at night: pubs, parties on the beach, shows in the square or in the sea front and so on. The two villages enjoy a good position, because they are 10 minutes far from the chief town and in the centre of the gulf of Carini, so that you can have a sea and a cultural holiday at the same time.

Climate and environment:: May, September and October are beautiful months in Palermo. The temperature is from 20 to 28 degrees, so one can still swim as well as very often in October, when the temperature is from 16 to 25 degrees (Celsius). In November as in April there are normally 14-20 degrees, in December 9-16, in January 8-15, in February 9-16, in March 10-17, in April 11-20, in Mai 14-24, in June 18-28. How to reach Villa 'Marinella on the sea': There are many economic direct flights. There are planes HLX or Ryanair. You can also reach Naples with your car, then put it on the ship Grandi Navi Veloci and disembark in Palermo. Another possibility is to drive to Genova and there take the ship of Grandi Navi Veloci to Palermo.

Beach facilities:: The owners, being holders of one of the most exclusive bathing establishments in the Northern shore of Sicily, provide their guests with free access to the beach and the free use of two beach beds, a beach umbrella and three canoes.

Distances:: The beach: 700 m. The bathing station: 700 m. Shops: 100 m. Highway: 5 minutes. Palermo center: 15 minutes. Monreale: 25 minutes. Scopello, San Vito Lo Capo, Erice, Trapani, Motia, Selinunte, Segesta: 90 minutes. Agrigento, Sciacca: 2 hours.

Comfortable flat in a convenient location

Comfortable and airy, maybe a bit cosier than it looks in the pictures, all very new and clean. Well placed for visiting Palermo, though we drove to a big car park by the city's ring road and then took the bus to the centre. Very suitable too for touring the west of Sicily and very close to the airport. The immediate neighbourhood is not that inspiring, but the pleasant Capaci central square is a 10 minutes walk and the private lido -a longer walk or a short drive- is very nice and well-kept. Most of the beaches in the area are private lidos, only a small part is free access. Parking in the street by the apartment is easy and safe. Despite the urban sprawl, the general scenery of the area is remarkable, the imposing mountains so close to the sea and its diferent shades of blue. Francesco and his father were very friendly and helpful when needed.

This apartment is located in a small town approximately 10-15 minute walk from the beach. The apartment was immaculately clean and tidy and obviously very well maintained.

The real selling point here is the customer service provided by the owner. He went out of his way to help us with a variety of things and couldn't have been more hospitable.

I would definately recommend this propery, especially if you want to take advantage of the excellent beach facilities. If you are looking to explore more of Sicily I'd suggest you hire a car as the public transport system is a little infrequent.

Our stay in Capaci

We stayed in the apartment for 2 weeks in June 2009. Apartment fully in line with description and photos. The only minor remark we would have is the lack of a small table for the terrace. The property was clean and well maintained. Francesco gave an excellent customer service. He picked us up at the airport and gave us a small tour in the town upon arrival. Do not forget to ask him for the ice cream shop and the restaurants in the area.
We would certainly recomment this property to a friend. Good starting point for trips around the west coast of the island (we did Palermo (2 times by bus), Monreale, and by car to Mondello, Cefalu, Segesta, Erice, Trapani all of which are worthwhile to visit. Also the private beach offered with the apartment is verry good and well maintained. The only minor point is that Capaci is not a touristic town with not much activity in the evening.
