Many local restaurants - in particular La Grotta at Roccalbegna, Da Clara at Triana, Il Mulino at Sempronano. Local wines are Morellino (a very good small producer can be found at Villa Patrizia) and Monte Cucco, and the world famous Brunello di Montalcino is nearby. Horses can be rented locally, and the area is a favourite with cyclists. Many important Etruscan sites as well as mystical Monte Labbro with its mountaintop hermitage. Owner lives locally and will be very happy to help with settling in and any other information.

Coast/Beach 45 mins driving to sought-after Monte Argentario (Gianella and Feniglia, part of Feniglia is equipped with restaurant and sunbeds etc.) also Alberese, Castiglione della Pescaia, Torba, Osa, and others.

Ski: Skiing Skiing available at Monte Amiata. Golf available at new 18 hole golf course at Saturnia

Wonderful family base with spectacular birdlife

We found this an excellent base for a peaceful family summer holiday (4 boys). The location is beautiful and full of birdlife - we found hoopoes, stone curlews, orioles and many others found on the farmland. The surrounding area has many good walks and interesting villages to visit - and Rome is an easy train ride away. The pool is larger than with other properties we have had - and a big hit with the children (all our children are swimmers). So there was never a lack of things to do that worked for both us and the kids.

The highlights for us were what must be the best located hammock in Italy (views all the way down the valley, always a gentle breeze - even on the hottest day), the local WWF reserve, day trips to visit Rome, and the bird watching on the property.

The house itself is large, comfortable and very well maintained - although to be honest we spent most of the time outside. We have never had so much land with a rental property before. The surrounding area is certainly worth exploring - a less well-known part of Tuscany - with hot springs, Etruscan ruins and mountain villages. We also really enjoyed the popping into the local village - Roccalbegna - very child friendly.

Overall, this was one of those rare occassions in which experience of the holiday exceeded the anticipation.

Beautiful Bellavista

Bellavista is a beautiful place to visit. The description of the house and grounds is very accurate. The house is a delight with excellent facilties and maintained to a very high standard. The owner provided excellent customer service was very friendly and available at all times. We took a disabled parent who is not wheel chair bound but has mobility problems and he had no problems using the ground floor facilities. The pool is wonderful and warm; maintained to a high standard and excellent for swimming and general play. We used it every day of our holiday and loved the opportunity to be able to swim in such beautiful surroundings. We found some excellent restaurants to eat in Roccabegna and surrounding area all very reasonably priced. Our family and friends enjoyed their stay here so much that we are planning a return visit next year. We would recommend this property to a friend.

Great holiday villa

We had a great time in this lovely rural villa. Arabella was very friendly and helpful even before we left the UK. The directions to the Villa were great and the trip from Piza airport was easy and quite stressfree. Arabella met us in the nearest village and took us to the house showing us around and informing us of basics without being intrusive.The property was a great size, very well maintained and clean. The kitchen was well equipped to a high standard and all the bathrooms were well thought out, each bedroom having its own en-suite. The pool was well maintained, although very cold!
It is very rural location but great for anyone who wants to see what Italy is really like as opposed to just some tourist hot spot.Not speaking any Italian it was great to know that Arabella was around and wouldn't hesitate to help if required.
I would recommend this Villa to a friend although not to someone who wanted theme parks and excitement. It is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle and to relax.
The restaurant in the local village was great but unless your Italian is very good don't go without Arabella! We enjoyed our meal there but as there was no written down menu we would have struggled without a translator! We had a lovely holiday even if the weather wasn't quite as warm as we would have liked- not something under anyones control!
