If you are looking for a tranquil beautiful place to relax, meditate, read, walk, enjoy good food, drink and marvellous sunsets away for TV, emails, life stressors this is the place for you. Restored 18th century house has all essential amenities with exclusion of a swimming pool, TV, and internet (these are available in a hotel 5 minutes walk away); sports / wellness centre and Spa facilities are 5km away and are available all year around; a daytrips to Venice, near by islands, underground caves and historical places like Pula, Porec and Rovinj. Motovun is a medieval hilltop place with breathtaking views of Mirna Valley, rolling hills and vineyards. Motovun is a walled city with narrow winding cobbled streets and may be less suitable for people with mobility problems and small children. Car is essential. Parking is outside the city walls and can be restricted in mid summer, and may cost.

Motovun is in the middle of rural Istrian peninsula wich is much like Tuscany and is very close to Trieste, a daytrips to Venice, near by islands, underground caves and historical places like Pula, Porec and Rovinj.There is little public transport in rural Istria, and car is highly recommended. Parking during summer months is restricted and you may be prepared to walk up hill. This may be demanding for small children and older people with mobility problems.

  • The price is negotiable depending on the demand and time of the year. The price includes all bills. There is no washing machine, but laundering can be negotiated with the house keeper. Very sorry, but we can not accommodate household pets, e. g. dogs due to bad experiences with irresponsible owners. Sorry!

Notes: The accommodation is open-space with 2 large secluded terraces. Most of the furniture is local antic or hand crafted. There are 3 single beds and one double sofa-bed in the bedrooms. The lounge can provide further sleeping accommodation in a form of a double sofa-bed. Dogs and pets are not considered as we had bad experiences in the past. There is no washing machine, but laundry can be arranged at extra cost. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools together with modern sports / wellness centre and Spa facilities are only 5km away and are available all year around. The Spa is called Toplice Sv Stjepan (on the way to Buzet) is highly recommended and inexpensive.

Further Details: Other points of interest: Asparagus picking season in April; Ballooning in May; International Film Festival at the end of July. During this time and for a period of 4 days, Motovun can become overcrowded and noisy due to influx of many visitors local and from abroad. Folk Festival in August; Harvest Festival in September; And Truffle season which starts in October. We can highly recommend local speciality of pasta with truffle dishes and Teran, excellent local wine served at Motovun restaurants. Motovun has a number of high quality renowned restaurants, and not fare off a number of good Village tourism establishments, which provide examples of working farms and excellent organic food.
