Photos and Description of this Vaison-la-Romaine holiday house

The house is situated in a beautiful garden of 5'200 m2, totally fenced and absolutly quiet except for the song of the cicadas and the waterfall going from the rocks into the pool. You can sit on the terrace, enjoy a glass of vine and admire the wonderful view on the old town of Vaison as well as the Mont Ventoux, or admire the stars in a absolute clear sky while lying in the hammock. The best medicin against stress. On the other side of the fence there is a vineyard which belongs to the house and the "garrigue" with wild thyme and rosemary, a delicious smell and ideal for walks. If you wish to improve your French, Dominique will be happy to give you lessons. She has a University degree and has specialised for teaching foreign adults.

Location: Vaison-la-Romaine in France

Nearest Motorway: Bollène at 25 Kilometres
Nearest Airport: Avignon at 45 Kilometres
Nearest Train: Orange at 25 Kilometres
Vaison is only 30 Minutes from Orange and 20 Minutes from Nyons. Both are lovely towns to visit. There are also plenty of other small villages worth while seeing like Séguret, Gigondas, Carpentras, Puymeras etc. If it is too warm in Vaison, you can drive up to Mont Ventoux, the highest mountain of Provence, 1906m. There you have mostly a cool wind and you can hike or have a meal on the terrace of a restaurant. Avignon, Arles, Nîmes and the Pont du Gard are a "must" if you want to drive a bit further and see more of Provence. I can give you all the information you want and my daughter could even be your tour guide. Come and enjoy the beautiful Provence!

  • The bathroom has one built-in washbasin with a chest below. There is 1 toilet and a "roman shower" with a bench. From the bathroom you have access to the terrace.

  • The living room has a sleeping-couch for 2 persons and in a corner you find the table with chairs, seldom used in Summer. The parent's bedroom has a wardrobe and a chest with drawers. The children's room is rather small. There are 2 beds separated by a bedtable. Two small chests are fixed into the wall above the beds. If only one person occupies the room, one bed can be put under the other one. The room has a sliding door towards the bathroom.

Notes: In a separate room you will find a washingmachine and a washing-hanger, an iron and an ironboard. There is also a vacuum cleaner as well as everything which is necessary to keep a house clean. All the bedsheets, pillow cases etc. and the different towels in the bathroom and kitchen are available. There are also special pool-towels as I prefer you not to use your bathroom towels outside the house. In the livingroom there is a pellet-oven which can be used when it is cold. This stove heats also the bedroom. The bathroom is heated with electricity as well as the children's room. You will certainly not need it in Summer.
