The villa is in the pinewood in the natural Park of Portoconte, near the seaside and the touristic port not far from the white lighthouse of Portoconte on the omonomous cape.. The wonderful Baia di Conte offers many attractions: the famous Neptune' Grotto, the archaeological site of Nuraghe Palmavera, the Roman site of Sant' Imbenia, the amazing isle of Foradada, the Cliff of Desire ,where Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton played the famous film , the natural reserve of Arca di Noè with savage animals coming from the interior of Sardinia. Discomusic, Traditional Restaurants, piano bar are in the area . You can practice trekking, sailing, diving, windsurfing, canoa, bike, motocross, fishing. You can rent excursion in the park, by land rover. The beach of Portoconte is only m 200 far ,but the most famous beaches of Riviera del corallo, LE BOMBARDE, LAZZARETTO, are only 2 km far from the B&B and yoy can go by foot. Market is not far .

Villa in Maristella, Alghero

The property was accurately described with very comfortable bedrooms, plenty of clean linen and towels and nice decoration. Everything in the villa was clean, well-maintained and in working order. The villa was located in a quiet community within short walking distance of a well-stocked market shop. It was within a 5 minute drive of a couple of lovely sandy beaches (Bombarde and Lazaretto) or a comfortable bike ride. The owner is extremely friendly and gave outstanding customer service with nothing too much trouble. There is a lovely drive around Porte Conte Bay to CappeCaccia where the stunning calcified Neptune Caves can be visited (600 odd steps down ..and back up..if you don't use the boat!). If interested in tennis we found a lovely club in Alghero (Maria Pia area) which is a very well-maintained facility, having hosted an Italy Davis Cup match in 2007. The club was very friendly and accommodating ad more than happy to allow visitors to play. There is a very good pizzeria about 500m from the villa - and also another very nice one in Fertilia ('Il Pajuro'). All in all we had a very comfortable stay and fully recommend the property.

Bonus was the hotel facilities

Having eventually found the "Villa" we were on 1st impresions from the outside disappointed, the property is described as a villa & is actually an apartment over 2 floors. However once inside we were plesently surprised by the size & layout of the accomodaation. All the bedrooms were a good size & both bathrooms were much better than previous more expensive accomodations we have stayed in. The out side court yard was small but we enjoyed a "few" late night chats & drinks & even managed a BBQ. The location for seeing the area was excellent with no where on the to do list more than an hours drive (car essential in our opinion) away. Once we had got our bags unpacked we went in search of the hotel Angelica told us about where we could use their facilities, WOW it was only a few minutes walk & had a great swimming pool & splash pool for younger kids, there was a lifeguard at all times & many other facilites for the family, the added bonus if you needed one was that there was a private beach with free sun beds & umbrellors just at the back of the pool with amazing clear warm safe depth sea.
Angelica greated us on our arrival at the Villa & gave us some suggestions on places to eat & visit which were appreciated she also suggested supermarkets other than the small local (very very expensive) one.
The only down side was that the accomodation could/would have benefitted from some fans for the bedrooms at night & the heat made it uncomfortable to sleep, we did mention this & whilst Angelica did provide one fan 3 would have made our stay more enjoyable.
Angelica always returned our calls if we needed anything & gave us fresh linen & towels when requested.
The only thing missing from a utensile view was an iron which I was assured would have been provided had we asked for but in truth we never needed.
This was a great base to see the region & certainly One we would recommend you consider.

Just the basics with this mediocre apartment

This is in a small village very near the airport. We were told to arrive at 2pm, but the apartment wasn't ready until 5pm. Little things annoyed me, like the cupboard under the sink wouldn't stay closed, there was no lighter to light the stove, and many of the dishes on the shelves were dirty. But, the apartment was clean and large and in a good central location to visit north-western Sardinia.
Owner's Response: There was an overbooking only for two hours , becouse the family leaving (with 5 children, one baby) had some trouble and I couln't ask to leave the house before.The house has been cleaned. I offered an other house but the guests didn't want it .The American guest didn't know the lighters, and may be the lady was very tired. They lost the key of the rented car and they were very nervous and worried. .The house is simple, clean and functional.

We loved the villa as soon as we saw it!!! I stayed at Casa Maristella with my boyfriend, our two close friends and their four year old daughter. Angelica the landlady was very sweet and was there to welcome us and to explain a few things us as well as to advise us where to go for meals, the beach etc.

We would recommend having a car for the beaches at Pineta Mugoni and Lazzaretto (beautiful) but for nearby places, the bus and walking would do fine. Angelica was nice enough to meet us and introduce herself but left us to our own devices and we felt very comfortable and very at home.

The villa itself was very spacious, neat and clean. We even had a spare room! The bathrooms were spacious

The only thing that was missing was an iron but Angelica arranged for one promptly. Luckily our friends had an ipod and a portable DVD that kept their daughter busy when it was too hot to be outdoors. We didn't have time to watch any TV and enjoyed the surrounding area; the hamlet of Fertilia and Alghero.

We even had a chance to have two barbecues on the patio. It was amazing. We had a wonderful, memorable time. It's only a matter of finalising dates before we book our holiday for next year and yes we will definitely be returning to Maristella, Alghero!!

wir hatten schon viel besseres

wir waren von der villa schon sehr enttäuscht.
wie die weitere beschreibung bereits sagt, ist die villa ein reihenhaus, wand an wand mit den nachbarhäusern und auch von hinten jede menge nachbarn, die man allesamt, wenn man draußen sitzt, hören kann.
einiges hat uns nicht gefallen:
- der garten inkl. terrasse war ca. 3 x 3 m groß, 7 leute konnten auf den
billigen klappstühlen gerade mal sitzen; der tisch war zu klein um dort
zu essen
der garten selbst war ein ca. 1m breiter streifen, der einige z.t.
verdorrte pflanzen beherbergte,
ansonsten lag am rand des kleinen gartens jede menge gerümpel
- der grill war total verschmutzt, auf unsere aufforderung hin hat die
vermieterin ihn dann gesäubert;
er ist auch so klein, dass man für 7 personen seine mahlzeit nicht
darauf zubereiten kann
- der kühlschrank war vor allem in den fugen und ritzen ziemlich
verdreckt
- der backofen ist ein "mini-backofen", in den nicht mal eine pizza passt,
für 7 personen kann man hierin nicht backen / kochen
- eine elektr. kaffeemaschine fehlt;
der typ. sard. kaffebereiter war uns zu verdreckt
- die spülmaschine funktionierte nicht richtig, so sah bei unserer ankunft
das geschirr auch aus, handspülmittel + spüllappen mussten wir erst
mal kaufen gehen
- bezügl. tassen und gläsern muss man´s bunt mögen, außer für wein
gibt es noch keine 2 gleichen tassen oder gläser
- bei unserer ankunft war der glaseinsatz zur badezimmertür zersplittert,
was absolut gefährlich für die kinder war, auf unsere aufforderung kam
dann auch der glaser, dafür mussten wir 2-mal zu hause bleiben,
ich denke, das hätte auch vor unserer ankunft erledigt sein können
- das haus ist insgesamt ziemlich verbraucht, z.b. beim runterlassen
des rolladens hatten wir plötzlich die gesamte rolladengurt-halterung
aus der wand in der hand, zwei türgriffe drohten abzufallen, eine
schlafzimmer-schranktür fiel ab
- 1 tag hatten wir gar kein wasser, die vermieterin hat uns vorher
leider nicht informiert und auch kaum auf unsere sms reagiert,
der nachbar hat uns dann nach 1 tag im keller den nottank
geöffnet (oder sonstwas im keller gemacht, jedenfalls kam dann wasser)
