Are you looking for a quiet country cottage for a holiday near the sea with young children or on your own? What about discovering the Val de Saire in the Cotentin where you will find activities and enjoyment for all ages and tastes. Our little semi-detached cottage is set in a small valley surrounded by farms and country tracks for easy walking. Children are safe and guests have access to 50sq.m. part of english style garden looking over owners' private part, entirely enviromently freindly.Garden furniture and a barbeque are supplied. The cottage has a 23sq.m sitting room with a very well equiped kitchen and dining area. Two small bedrooms, shower room and separate WC leading onto a large light landing. The cottage faces east-west and the garden at the back is well protected. Plenty of sporting activities, walking, riding, sailing,swimming, windsurfing, fishing. Children enjoy climbing the lighthouse, animal park, rock fishing for shrimps, cockles and mussels, beaches, Cité de la Mer.

Location: Manche in France

The cottage is in a small hamlet on a hill 60m above sealevel in the river Saire valley in the north east of La Manche. The very quiet hamlet consists of 3 farms and 5 houses surrounded by small fields and hedges, often bordered by tracks full of wildlife and beauty. Joulines, the hamlet, is only 2km from the nearest village Quettehou, where there are two supermarkets, plenty of shops, a bank, a postoffice and a tourist information centre. St. Vaast la Hougue and its marina and shops is only 4km distant. Here and in Barfleur (10km) there is plenty of life around the fishing boats, the marina and the restaurants and cafés. Within easy driving distance one can go to many sandy beaches ideal for children for bathing and rock fishing. Cherbourg is 35km away and the northern and western coastlines are within easy reach by car. Bayeux and its tapestry, Caen and the Memorial museum, the D-Day landing beaches, Mont St Michel and many other sites are all possible to visit in a day.

  • Rent is paid by the week. High season (July-August) 380euros. Mid-season (April, May, June, part of September, February, October, November and Christmas half-terms) 230euros, Low season 150euros. Heating 55euros per week.
    Possibility for a few nights during certain periods of mid and low season. Low-season 3 nights 90euros+ 40euros heating; 4nights 100euros+45euros heating; 5 nights 110euros+45euros heating.
    Mid-season 3 nights 120euros+40euros heating; 4 nights 160euros+45euros heating.
    Gas, electricity, water included.
    Cleaning service optional, 35euros. Bed linen and towels optional, 10euros per person.
    50 rent is paid when reservation is made. (Up to 6 weeks before arrival date, 50 of this deposit will be returned if stay is cancelled. For a cancellation between 4 and 6 weeks before arrival, 25 will be returned).

  • There are two small bedrooms which give onto a spacious and light landing. On the landing there is a big clothes cupboard and chest of drawers and a long mirror. The double bedroom (3m x 2.50m) has a double bed (1m90 x 1m40), two bedside tables and two beside lights and a chair. There are 4 continental size pillows (2 feather and 2 synthetic) , a double duvet (2.50 x 2.20) and a protection for the mattress. The children's room (2.50 x 2m50) has bunk beds (1m90 x 90) and a chest of drawers. Each bed has a mattress protection, rubber sheet, duvet and pillow. There are wall lights for each bed and a small side light on the chest of drawers. A baby's cot can be put in the room and the chest of drawers put at the top of the stairs to give more space. A changing table is also available if asked for. The velux windows in both rooms have blinds. Each bedroom is heated with an electric radiator.
