Photos and Description of this San Giovanni d'Asso holiday cottage
In one of the most suggestive and characteristic areas of Sienese countryside, among the hills called Le Crete, is this beautiful secluded farmhouse named Calatine, dating back to the XV-XVI century. It is surrounded by rolling hills and pasture land in an untouched landscape where flocks of sheep can graze. Here one can stay in peaceful tranquillity in the midst of the unique Tuscan landscape. Calatine has been lovingly restored while retaining its original features, for example, "cotto" flooring and wooden beams. It is furnished through out with original antique Tuscan furniture, and it has been decorated with special care and attention by owner herself.
The nearby village of SAn Giovanni d'Asso is famous for its white truffles; and the charming village of Montisi is also a short 5 minuts drive away. Montalcino which is famous for its Brunello-wine is just 15 minute drive, as are Pienza, and medieval abbey Monte Oliveto Maggiore. Siena is only40 km away.
