Nice flat for 2 to 4 persons, 5 minutes walking from the port of Port-Vendres. Port-Vendres is a charming fishing harbour and port situated on the Mediterranean coast 15 miles South of Perpignan and ten miles North of the Spanish border. It is reached by road via the N114 which leaves the motorway network just South of Perpignan. There are Summer flights to Perpignan from Gatwick and Port-Vendres is only an hour from Gerona airport in Spain which is served by Ryan Air and flights from regional airports. The nearest airports - both with Ryanair flights from the UK- are Perpignan in France (about 25 miles) and Gerona in Spain (about 40 miles). Barcelona is a 2 hour drive down the motorway.

Port-Vendres is on the Mediterranean coast south of the Pyrenees. It is 2 km from Collioure (photo) -'village of the Impressionists' and about 15km from the Spanish border. It is an active fishing port so the village remains lively even in the winter months - there is even a cinema. The scenery is beautiful and there are superb walks along the coast or up into the Pyrenees. With a car there is a lot to explore - from Cathar castles in France to 'Dali country' in Spain. Port-Vendres is animated by its small working port, which is sometimes visited by cruise liners and the arrival each day of the fishing boats with their catches of anchovies, tuna, etc., which are sold at the fish market or from the boats themselves. The Palm-lined yachting harbour quayside has an abundance of shops, cafes and seafood restaurants and the Place Castellane provides a venue for open-air dances and the many cultural festivities.

You are also a short drive from the museum of modern art at Ceret and, just over the border, the Dali towns of Figueras and Cadaques.
