Nice in Nice

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights after a short break in Paris. Caught the TGV train from Gare de Lyon and arrived in Nice 6hrs later. We are both 24 and wanted a relaxing break. Really enjoyed our time in this apartment. A little rustic, lacked a few mod cons (such as a kettle and hair dryer according to the missus) but a really good chance to get away from it. make sure u have a good relationship if going away with a partner as you will need to talk to entertain yourselves (no TV or radio,) bring a book. Don’t be put off by the entrance to the apartment block (girlfriend didn't like it at first, was a bit wary) you literally walk a few steps from the new town into old town and entrance is there, and looks abit daunting. The apartment is cool, has a shabby chic thing going on, comfy bed, had to boil water in a pan to make tea but I kind of enjoyed it, took me back to a simpler time I guess. Great food all around, big square full or restraunts a two minute walk away. Make sure you go to Beefbar if you like steak. And good ice cream and sorbets are all around you. There is also a little shop selling the essentials (tea bags) right outside your front door. Beach is nice, water is really blue and not to cold, beach is pebbled so bring a comfy beach mat, or use one provided in the flat. Make sure you walk up the hill where the water fall is, amazing views, good photo ops and there’s a park selling ice cream at the top. Staying in the apartment makes you feel like a local, you hear the hustle and bustle of the streets below and there are all the markets which are nice to walk around and buy a load of tat. Light sleepers bring earplugs, can get a bit noisy if you need an early night, but if u like the nightlife the town is always buzzing. Defiantly recommend to couples, probably not good for kids or people who struggle with stairs as it’s on the 3rd floor of the apartment block. Anita the house keeper is very sweet and the owner of the apartment is only a phone call away. 5 thumb’s up.
