This beautiful 17th century house is the former 'Gate Keepers Lodge' of Hensol Castle. It sits amidst the stunning countryside of Pendoylan in the Vale of Glamorgan. Surrounded by incredible pasture land and vineyards, this property will suit perfectly those looking to get away from it all. The original lodge has been tastefully extended, to accommodate a huge country kitchen and conservatory area. The addition of an outdoor swimming pool only enhances the beautifully landscaped garden and terrace area. Close to championship golf course & health spa, cycle route, quad biking, and walking footpaths. The property is only 2 minutes from junction 34 of the M4 and only 15 minutes from Cardiff City Centre with its multitude of sightseeing and interests.

The Lodge is located in the countryside and yet only 15 minutes from the Cardiff - Capital City of Wales. There is a championship golf course nearby and also a vineyard which offers wine tasting. No prices released for the Ryder Cup (Newport) 2010 until late 2009.

  • 30 % deposit will secure dates (none refundable). £300 refundable bond is required 2 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. Prices may be subject to change at the owner’s discretion. Check-in from 3pm on arrival day, and property must be vacated by 10am on the departure day. The property will be cleaned throughout before arrival and after departure this is not chargeable. Any additional cleaning needed spillages etc. will be chargeable.
  • MINIMUM OF 2 NIGHT STAY. PRICES BASED ON 14 PEOPLE STAYING AT THE PROPERTY FOR A WEEKEND, WEEK DAYS OR FOR A WHOLE WEEK.

Wine Tasting: The award winning Llanerch Vineyard is just accross the road from Hafod lodge. Vines were first planted at Llanerch in 1986 and there were subsequent plantings each year up to 1991 when a total of nearly 7 acres of vines were growing. Llanerch is currently the largest commercial vineyard in Wales producing estate-grown wines. These are marketed under the Cariad label. Cariad Wines have gained exceptional critical acclaim. Over twenty awards in international competitions and a huge number of successes in UK wine festivals testify to their outstanding quality. The wines are available from Sainsbury stores throughout Wales or directly from the vineyard.

Golf: We are next to the vale of Glamorgan Championship golf & Spa resort. There are also numerous golf courses close to the Lodge. Discount Golf can be arranged. Cotterille Park, St. Mary's, Barry, Caslte Heights, Mountain Lakes, Castle Coch. Virginia Park, Peterstone. No prices released of the ryder cup (newport) 2010 until late 2009.
