Casa Mia (sleeps 6/10. 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom)is a beautiful rural property set on 3 floors with private pool. Peaceful location surrounded by vineyards and rolling fields. 15 min drive to Porec for all amenities. Couple of miles to Vizinada and supermarkets. Beaches nearby. Rural living at its most peaceful. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. Casa Mia is situated on the edge of the small hamlet of Stanici. The larger town of Vizinada is a couple of miles down the road and there you'll find a couple of small supermarkets serving their fresh daily bread and other essential items. Istria's regional capital Porec is a 20km drive away and there you'll find restaurants, shops of all kinds plus a couple of large supermarkets where you'll do your weekly shop.

Istria is often referred to as the New Tuscany such is its climate, landscapes and vineyards. If you don’t relax by the pool or simply sunbath, there are plenty of day trip possibilities: Porec, the capital of Istria, Pula with its ancient Roman amphitheatre, Motovan, the marvellously atmospheric hill town, Rovinj with its quaint old streets barred to traffic and Opatija with its 19th century neoclassic opulence. Stanisi itself is a very small hamlet, probably no more than 7 habitable dwellings most of which make a living from the wine trade. There’s a lovely restaurant just at the end of the approach road and a couple of small 'supermarkets', 2 km away, in Vizinada (which incidentally, pretending to be French, formed the backdrop to scenes from the Clint Eastwood movie ‘Kelly’s Heroes’). More lively nightlife can be found a 15 minute drive away, in Porec or Novigrad, two lovely seaside towns, or in quaint Buje.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Prices are for the property per week in euros and are inclusive of local VAT and service charges.
    The only thing extra you will pay will be locally payable State Tourism Taxes which work out to about 2 euros per day for adults and just over 1 euro per day for children. These will be collected from you by the managing agent, Istria Property Management.
    The prices stated are for a maximum of 6 guests. Additional charges will be applied for parties of 7 - 10 persons. Please apply to the owner for details of large party rates.
    Please contact the owner for special pricing on long stays/out of season bookings etc.
  • CHANGEOVER DAYS:

    The preferred changeover day is Saturday although this is open to negotiation. Arrivals after 16.00 hrs and departures before 11.00 hrs please. This enables a thorough clean to take place before the arrival of the following clients.
  • BOOKING CONDITIONS:

    A non-refundable 40 % deposit is required at the time of booking. Booking remains open until deposit money is received. The balance is to be paid at least 45 days before the booking starts. Payment method will be advised to you by the managing agent who will contact you when you confirm your booking with the owner. Clients are asked for a 300 euros deposit to be applied to any damages or misuse of the property. This is returned within 15 days of the end of the holiday assuming no damage costs.
    All clients are recommended to take out their own travel insurance.

  • The shower room is located on the Ground floor. It has a walk in shower with no lip. Again this is useful for senior people who sometimes have problems stepping into lipped shower units.

  • The master bedroom on the second floor has an en suite. The living room on the ground floor has a sofa bed and a loo / shower next to it. This arrangement is thought to be ideal for the more infirm or senior people who cannot easily manage stairs (there is also a TV provided for this room). However, the owner would like to point out that this property is not advertised as meeting all the requirements of a disabled facility.

Notes: The property is unsuitable for children under 16. The property has steep stairs to the first and second floors and the open swimming pool is a risk. The property has been marked as suitable for the elderly or infirm on the basis that the Ground floor sitting room can be converted to a bedroom (it has a sofa bed) which is situated next to an easy access shower room and has direct access out to the gardens, terrace and pool. The stairs to the first and second levels are a risk for the elderly and infirm.

Getting to Istria: Several airports served by low cost carriers are within reasonable driving distance, the closest being Pula in the south of Istria (Ryanair -London Stansted, Dublin) a 30 minute drive to the house, Triest over the border in Italy (Ryanair - Stansted, Frankfurt) - a 60 minute drive, Rijeka in the North East of Istria (Easyjet -Luton, Bristol, HLX- Stuttgart, Munich, Hannover, Cologne, Leipzig) about a 60 minute drive, then Ljubljana in Slovenia (Easyjet- London Stansted, Wizz-Brussels) about a 90 min drive, Venice, a nice place to start a holiday with a number of airline options. From there, you have a 2.5 hour drive to the house. You can even take a ferry from Venice to Porec, hire a car and drive 15 minutes to the house. You can rent a car, but make sure that if you are renting from Italy or Slovenia you have permission to take the car to Croatia. There is usually no extra charge for this.
